Thanks EV. Yeah, I gotta get focused.

Here is a crazy reminder of how far I could have been. I met this guy last summer. He chatted me up and I ended up going to the gym and showing him how to squat as he had never really lifted weights before. He was 270lbs then and his now 165lbs and looking fantastic. He hit em up and we are going to meet at the gym on Saturday....I'm going to feel so embarrassed that I'm 35lbs heavier than the last time we were at the gym.

You meeting up with the montecore!! Wow, Golden Coacho it is.

Lmfaooo. She is into him though so it all makes sense now. Except I’m sure this dude has a much better personality than monte.
04-12-2019 , 09:15 AM
Monte is awesome and I'm sooo jealous of his wife!

This guy was confident enough to speak with me, but very unsure of himself and insecure. He had been overweight his entire life and all the baggage that comes with that. When I saw his after pic I told him he looked hot and he responded, "Really? You think I'm hot now?". :/ He still seems insecure and I'll try to help give him a confidence boost.

Not a bad first week logging.

Weighed in at 236.9 this morning.

Avg Cal's: 2166
Avg Protein: 101
Avg Carbs: 214
Avg Fat: 102

Not much improvement with water consumption, smoking, and walking.

I absolutely don't want to start my job smoking so I've got to get on it this week.

I've walked 16miles so far this month, when I was losing weight steadily it was between 40-60miles a month. I also felt so much better mentally.

If I remember correctly, based on your past posting, trying to "help give him a confidence boost" may include banging him. Did you run it by code3?
04-12-2019 , 06:09 PM
Meh... apparently we aren't running things by each other these days. I don't make the rules, I just find out what they are after the fact.

Anywho, this is my health log and I'm going to focus on that.
04-13-2019 , 12:00 AM
Yeah, definitely focus on that. I just wanted to make sure I was clear on your confidence boosting techniques. Sorry to bring code into it.

I prefer nicotine gum over patches personally.

I had really good success years ago with chantix, no side effects for me.

MLY,

Get a vape. I suggest a Novo Smok. They're like 20 bucks.
04-13-2019 , 02:32 PM
I have a vape, but I got a bacterial infection in the back of my throat the last time I used it.
04-13-2019 , 02:35 PM
Obviously the two must be related and cigarettes are better for you
04-13-2019 , 08:37 PM

I cooked chicken thighs on the grill thinking I would have some prepped food, but there were only 2 left after code3 and my daughter ate. I used the recipe Monte gave me ages ago for.the marinade and added montery chicken spice..... fantastic flavor. I've got some more I'll cook tomorrow and I'm gonna eat a lot of tuna fish this week..... mostly because I don't want to go to the grocery store.

I actually went to buy a nice grill and ended up buying the $20 one I replace every year. It just made me cringe at the cost of the other grills. Are they worth it, any recommendations?

I don't like gas grills because what's the point if you aren't getting the charcoal flavor.

Unless you frequently host massive parties or grill massive cuts (suckling pig) I would go with a Weber kettle. They are gonna run about 90-100 bucks but it’s well worth it if you do any regular barbecuing.

I have one that has seen regular action for the last 7 or so years and I expect to get another 7 or more.

Weber is super modular and they sell all kinds of accessories and replacement parts. I suspect I’ll be needing to replace the grill grate within the next year or so but the grills themselves are rock solid. I have never covered mine but I do leave it under a carport.

Bonus tip: you might be able to pickup a used one for pretty cheap at a flea market/yard sale or craigslist.
