Third time's the charm Third time's the charm

Why log completely when you know you’re logging inaccurately?

Great idea. I was wanting to play a couple of tournaments in June-2wks apart and some in July. I'll have to maintain 1800cals/day or I don't get to play.
I might be misremembering my pop-psychology but positive reinforcement schemes work better than negative reinforcement.

How would one implement this advice?

I'm with loco, I don't understand the mayo love ITT.

When I eat a can of tuna (usually once or twice a week) I simply drain the water, add a small amount of hot sauce or salsa, and eat it right out of the can with a fork. It's not amazing, but it's tasty enough and my hunger is sated.

Mayo is the GOAT sauce.

I honestly don't think I've ever even bought mayo. Certainly never added it to anything knowingly.

It's a super donk food. It's too calorically dense to serve it's purpose, which is only to "wet" food.

It also tastes like shiet, might as well wet your sandwich/salad/lean meat with baby vomit.

But a tablespoon for 35 calories of the fake mayo is great, so MLYLT can slather about as much as she likes.

So my pot plants have been doing okay. I've been meaning to transfer them to their own separate pots and really need to get on that this weekend.
My cherry tomatoes were already full and we have eaten those up, waiting on the next round! I've got 12 bell pepper plants and 8 tomatoes plants.....my other mini garden in the yard got freaking mowed down.

The marbles in a jar is a good example. Do tasks get reward. The punishment she's devised is bad because she had one day (the first day) over 1800 so what's to keep her from just going HAM now that she's "failed" and the "punishment" should already be in effect. With the marbles the kid is always incentivized to do better the next day.

Ohhhh right. That makes a ton of sense

I’m thinking of implementing this for myself. I’m curious what kind of rewards you guys give yourselves?

If MLY logs a lot of 1800 calorie days she's going to lose weight, a fair amount of weight...to suggest otherwise is kind of dumb. Problem is (IMHO and im bullsheiting here) can she maintain a good enough ratio of 1800 calories days to offset the cheat days, and can she limit the calories consumed on those cheat days.

What extra motivation does she need? If she conquers SOS (Sedentary Obese Smoker), she gets an extra 15+ years of life plus a bunch more healthy quality years. You can make an arguement that she might not have any of the latter left.

I would kill nuclear or melkerson for that much more life.

Most people have a temporal discounting mechanism built into them.

As long as it isn't eating I'm all for it.

Been really busy, disconnect for a couple of days with the end of school and kids over every night.

Kids have been swimming for.weeks, but the water is finally warm enough for me to swim. I . going to swim laps as much as possible this summer. Not a big pool, but enough for some exercise. Oh, and I thought I successfully hid my good goggles from my daughter....I was so excited, but turns out she broken them and put them back in my hiding spot.

The co-ed softball team I play on also hit me up and I will be starting that after next week. I don't think I have ran since last year when my thigh started locking up! Going to try to run tomorrow and see how it feels.

Gogogo MeLuhU I believe in you
05-25-2019 , 02:03 AM
Videos of the running please!
I'd just start with a couple dozen laps in that pool for a while before running but that's just me.
05-25-2019 , 02:07 AM
Maybe it’s just me but I find that swimming is a totally different animal from running.

I think things like biking are more akin to running then swimming. But I have no idea what I’m talking about
05-25-2019 , 11:03 AM
Running is completely different than swimming. I could be swimming 1mile, 2miles in no time at all..... running would take me a month to build up to a very slow 12 min mile.
I've committed to playing softball again, and I'm not going out there sucking air or throwing up, so I'm really going to have to run a little bit every day.

I'm so ready for my short summer break with no kids and have the pool to myself. I've had kids over every single day the last couple of weeks. My daughter and 3 of the neighborhood kids camped out in the neighbors backyard last night, then headed straight over to wake me up at 8:00 this morning.

I love how in all of this there’s not even a consideration of quitting smoking lol.

Loco is right. More than weight loss, more than your mental health even - the most important thing you could do for yourself and your daughter is to stop smoking.
