TX you gonna make it this way anytime season? Bouldering season?
I need to! When do the temps start dropping?

November-March are the best months for bouldering temps. Ideal weather is highs in the 40s. Can of course climb when it is much warmer as well.

October is hit or miss. It could easily be in the 60s or 90s.

Yup, got lucky last year when some friends from Toronto came down mid October, decent temps, but the day before they arrived it was like 85+. November to be safe.

But I'm sure me and cottonseed will be out there for some degenerate night sessions come September.

Well yesterday I woke up and my back/sciatic was tweaked.
Kinda was noticeable all day. Didn't feel any better today. Sleeping on it seemed to make it worse. Oddly I was getting pain both in extension and flexion. Just practice swinging OHP I was feeling some pain, which is pretty weird, like it's the same injury as before but has a bit different characteristics. I'm gonna go try to OHP and see what happens but yeah this sucks. Was finally getting on a role I felt like. No idea what triggered this tbh.

Well back wasn't too bad I don't think it affected much although I was a bit apprehensive and didn't quite attack the weights like normal. Core was a little wobbly at first pressing.

Yeah so pretty sure I was good for 6x150 which is e1rm 180. I should be a lock after a peaking cycle.

I cut some **** out, have been feeling a little less psyched this week, and potentially a hair weaker than last. Maybe crossed MRV. I also may have too much junk accessory, idk. Will prob either deload a bit, and or pivot into lower reps and run a peak block.

Aight i think my weight has officially bumped up a bit. 180 this morning. I lifted fasted this morning because Rogan and Robert Orbest were talking about it on the podcast the other day. Dislike. I went for a max on OHP because I felt like it, weighed 180 and will prob need 185 to go next time for the BW. Oh well.

So this cool new thing is having muscle contractions (use that word because they're stronger than little twitches) on their own. It's been my left tricep for about 4/5 days now. It just rapidly contracts about 10x in a row every few minutes. Today I woke up and was laying in bed and both quads started doing it. Which I don't think is a caffeine or nicotine thing because I'd, well, been asleep for 7hrs.

My strategy this year has been ignore **** and see the doctor less, but this is pretty irritating and a bit concerning. But I have not noticed any weakness, atrophy, or pain associated with it.

I've also noticed random little single or double twitches every few minutes which occurs in random locations all over body in the past month.

Of course the calf twitches that happen non stop for the past year+.

No idea if any are related or whatever.

Climbed outside. The other guys set the trad gear and we (gf & I) followed and top ropped it. It was both our first time being outside on rope. We had fun! We did 3 routes, I think they were 2 5.9s and 1 5.10+ or 5.11-. Which top roping doesn't count for anything but we were getting our feet wet. Really enjoyed the 5.10 it had some unique features and a variety of holds/movements. I finally relaxed a bit on this one and could focus more on climbing. I guess I have a bit of a fear of heights, or just anxiety being high off the ground and trusting everything. Both the guys we climbed with were very experienced and did a good job teaching and reassuring us.

I'm excited to see the climber Krista turns into in the next 3 years. She has a lot of finger strength to grow into and a high ceiling. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see her knock down some v8s within this time frame. She been getting in a lot of climbing volume without any injury issues, which is another good sign.

Climbed. Soso, forearms were pumped like crazy. Wonder if training biceps after climbing sessions could be a good idea. The other day I did some curls with my wrists cocked down to limit forearm help. I feel like forearms are a big helper for anything biceps for me. I also notice my forearms getting worked a lot on pullups or lat PDs.

Pre-exhaustion seems to have a couple places in hypertrophy.

1. Fatigue the target muscle so it fails first. This would be doing cable flys then bench so your chest is the limiting group, not the triceps.

2. Fatigue non target muscles which contribute too much. Sounds like your forearms in the curls. Could also see maybe the traps in side raises? Think the first point has more useful applications.

Pretty sure pre exhaustion is fake.

Actually, almost anything natty is fake (except getting stronger and adequate protein). And anything on the sauce is real, including nothing.

Yeah maybe I need to address something there. It feels like when my upper hamstring/lower glutes area get tight it lifts my upper ass off. There is still contact there in between my feet and upper back.

I've read make sure knees are below hips and mine are well below so not sure what to do about it.

Yeah so messing with it today its my inner thighs that maintain contact and when flex push my upper glutes up. Not sure how to fix it or if I need to even.
