I knew about Tina Fey.

Date #2 happened yesterday. It consisted of a short adventure to go check out some cool little shops while enjoying the nice beach view. We then spent the next 9 hours in and around my bed marathoning Battlestar Galactica and then I grilled out (Me man, me make fire and provide food for you). It's going well to say the least.

Awesome! Grats! Popcornin over here.

Dunno if I mentioned it but I'm not seeing the CF coach again. She's just too thick for my liking. Not enough physical attraction. Needs to cut.

Another girl who is an attorney is cool and funny and we have good chats but eh....it's hard man. She's like a 6 on a good day. Maybe I'm being shallow or crazy but I think I could do a lot better. Just not really that attracted to her. We've been on 2 dates and she texts me a lot now.

Friday I have a date with this one:

Spoiler:

She's super cool, smart and sarcastic. I'm a big fan so far. I think she's like a 7.5 easy with upside. Can't wait. btw, pic was from a mad men party, she doesn't smoke.

At least one of you have some sense. No man should be riding a moped around.

My goals for this month:
Get squat and DL back up around 180 kg x 5
Walk more often
Shoot a Moose

Was going to say girls smoking is flat out disgusting. GL with the date.

Same response as POW. Was ready to say ugh, no. But going to a Mad Men party puts her in the top rankings. GL!

Meh, no way she'd be comfortable with me riding a motorcyle. An electric moped runs at similar speeds to a bike, a bit faster but not that much. I'd take my bike route to work, to my eye it couldn't be less safe than riding a bike.

Like I give a **** what I look like on it.

I mean, you realize that 2-3 days/week I put on spandex, a bike helmet, panniers, and ride to work?

A coworker of mine recently suffered a spinal injury like mine (bulging disc, probably has degenerative disc disease)

His physical therapist has a blog, here's an entry where he basically tells you not to do any of the exercises that all of us do (squat, bench, dips, l-sits, etc): http://dougkelsey.com/overrated-exercises/

I kinda told him to take it with a grain of salt but he's not sure what he should do.

Rusty,

I'm not sure you're aware, but our not-so skeletal friend lives in Alaska. I hope this helps clarify the situation.

Ah, ok. I didn't realize living in alaska meant you got to speak for "all men"

Do you also have a cycling jersey with sponsors on it to give the impression you're a member of a sponsored cycling team when in reality you're just a dude on a bike?

Careful out there biker bros.
I was just thinking earlier today (before catching up here) that I should sell my motorcycle. I just moved, and I'm not sure where to park it. It also wouldn't be parked in a garage anymore, so bad people might try to do things to it.

I have team jerseys for the teams I've been on. I rarely wear them unless I am going to a team event. The practice of wearing famous team jerseys is admittedly pretty dumb.

80% of the time I wear the kit that the company I work for has.

I need to look into a moped but the thing that is offputting for me (from a safety perspective) is that I'd be in the same lane as cars, whereas with a bicycle I'm in the bike lane, which for me feels a lot safer than being in front of a car.

In austin electric mopeds can ride in bike lanes

But 90% of my (bike) commute is back country roads with no traffic. There are a total of 2 stop lights and zero stop signs until I get within about 2mi of work and it's all bike lanes from there.

My car is an old truck. I want to keep it forever, because having a truck is useful, but driving it to work is stupid and does not help with the goal of keeping it forever. So basically I want a tiny ass car that I'd use only for commuting to work.

But why spend 10k on a tiny crappy car when I could spend 2k on an electric moped? This is my main reasoning, I dunno. I'mma try to wear her down.
09-03-2013 , 02:31 PM
Hmmm. I have to admit, an electric moped is smart. But I can't help but feel like if you're going to buy a 2k moped you should look at a used motorcycle instead. Mopeds don't have enough horsepower to keep pace with traffic, and the really inexpensive ones are so light that you will blow over when a vehicle passes you.
