I was working out with one of my friends so attempted heavier weights than I would otherwise (also why I switched press and bench days this week). Beat my friend on squat and bench but lost badly on chin-ups. He is shorter and not fat though

Seems ill-conceived to do 4x4 deadlift before heavier work instead of the other way around. Are you following a program?

Yeah, I'm doing the Mag-Ort deadlift routine I found on here:

Except I sometimes skip the last set of 8 when I'm being lazy.

I think a portion of it is that I'm not used to pulling heavy (sub 5 reps) sets and am not very strong in that rep range

Bench, 6x135 press, 5x335 squat recently, and some other stuff. Got another softball tournament Labor Day weekend, and then the seasons over. Will try to take it easy this week so as to be at 100% for that

Decided to try Inverted Juggernaut Method to change it up. TL;DR, I am not in very good shape.

Press (beltless)
10x5x100 (60 sec rest timed)

This didn't feel too bad, and I thought, ok this high rep short rest stuff isn't so bad

Squat
5x5x230 (60 sec rest timed, beltless)
2x5x230 (120 sec rest timed, belted)
1x5x230 (~4 min rest untimed, was going to quit and went to locker room, resolved to do my last two sets and came back, then only did one)

I was breathing really hard in these and generally hating life. Which is good I think exercise should be hard and I'd been taking it too easy but still, this sucked.
