cross posted from SL:

this semester I will be doing an internship and school at the same time. I honestly can't see myself getting more than 6hours of sleep a night during the weekday, especially if I want to still have any semblance of a social life.

I'll be catching up on all the sleep on the weekends obv.

how many of you guys do this? how healthy/unhealthy is it? what should I do about naps?

just asking b/c I somewhat did this last week and it turned out OK but I ended up being dead tired by Thursday morning.

I get only 6h/night too and I hate it. I feel pretty tired on fridays. The problem is: after a while, "catching up" won't work, because your biorythm adapts. At least that's the case for me, but I am an "early bird" by nature. So you might get stuck on the 6 hours.

This. OP, try having a couple of kids and come back to this thread.

My son inexplicably woke us up 5x last night just to tell us that he couldn't sleep. There was nothing physically/mentally wrong, and he has books/TV to keep him busy, but had to just keep letting us know...eventually I told him the only thing I could do to "help" is hit him over the head with a brick or something. He didn't bother us after that. Then around 3am my daughter decided to climb into bed with us and proceeded to somehow kick me in the yambag every single time she rolled over. Fun stuff.
