They're in the main lobby of this mid-high tier apartment complex in Nashville. We did all the custom woodwork for this place and afterward the interior designer for the job asked us to make these, which were inspired by something she saw in a magazine or something. They hang from the ceiling which is ~20 feet off the ground. They don't really swing or even spin, they just kind of oscillate. I think they look cool and will be primarily used for taking instagram pictures. They're not particularly comfortable.

That sounds about right. Those things look massive, immobile, uncomfortable, and generally impractical. Only thing that would explain it would be a burning desire for that particular aesthetic.

I suppose they look a bit interesting, but not nearly enough to outweigh all the negatives. I guess the designer must be really attached to that look.

They're actually not that large. The diameter of the rolled tubes was 43" so it only seats one, and a really tall guy might not have enough headroom.

But yeah otherwise agreed.

I slipped up and missed Friday's workout. Not gonna play the catch-up game. I know where that leads. Just gonna chalk it up to a momentary failure of willpower and move on. Squats were stronger than expected given I really didn't feel that hyped. Bench still sucks balls.

I've been trying to dial in my bench setup in the rack and it's still not quite there. Stuff just feels way harder than it should.

I'd been previously counting the SSB bar as 45 but its definitely heavier so I'm calling it 55 from here on out. I took a 20lb jump from last week and there's still a decent amount in the tank on these. I decided to change the overhead press to incline, and Friday's incline I'm gonna change to just more benching. Overhead press has never been a lift that I've been able to make appreciable progress on, and doing it for sets of >5 is kind of miserable.

DLs felt really good. Was planning to bench but all benches (two fixed and two mobile) were being used. Anyway, this thread could always use more ceepee to spice things up.

PM session. I think 275x5 ties a PR at the same RPE from last year. However, since it is with oscillating iron plates this time, I think that adds 5-10 lb of difficulty.

The new sterile theme of 2p2 nicely dovetails with my current motivation and strength levels.

I did a workout on Wednesday and motivation was so crappy that I just did some leg presses and machine stuff that I didn't feel was log worthy. I got pretty ill on Thursday night and skipped Friday as a result. Spent the weekend recovering (was some kind of stomach bug) and, keeping with earlier themes didn't feel it necessary to "make up" that workout.

Today I was going to hit the 280x5 world record but 295 moved sluggish (like a wet sponge) and I decided to back up and punt. Bench just feels really awkward and unwieldy. I can't find a setup in the rack that I like. I think I'd just be better off doing lots of low RPE sets of 2-4 in the standard bench without a spotter. History bears that theory out too.

God I hate training right now. It doesn't help that I always make subconscious efforts to sabotage my workouts, like eating a heavy Korean meal just prior to pause squats.

Have you thought about switching to a different style of training or something along those lines?

I have. I just hate cardio. I could definitely see myself doing a bro split or something along those lines for a while.

Still alive. Been averaging about 2x a week for the last 6 weeks. Work is insane. Bodyweight is out of control. Good news is I found a fantastic gym less than 5 minutes away. Brand new iron pound plates. 3 racks. 300 dollar bars. Squat bar, dl bar, ssb bar. Belt squat. Bumper plates. Calibrated rogue kg plates that I forbid myself from using until I can lift man weights. Benches with safeties. And they're expanding to adjacent space to add strongman and oly.

How are yall dudes?

Hi,

No pics. Sorry just not in a state where I feel comfortable with it, yet. I look like I did at 170lb last time, just with a bit more muscle mass.

There was at least one logged workout since the last one.

Squat w/belt 5s 145, 195, 215, 235 (numbers are weird because it's a 55lb squat bar)

Bench 5s 95, 125, 135, 135, 135, 135, 135

Machine rows 8s 5 sets

I've decided that I can get through squat workouts easier if I wear sleeves/belt, so I'm gonna do that from now on. I had pretty good squat/dl gains after a comeback when I did this 3 day heavy light medium barbell medicine routine. Today I followed my best recollection of W1D1 of it, and I'll do the actual program on thursday. Planning on Tue/Thu/Sat. Tuesday is Heavy Squat and Bench and maybe rackpulls (now that I think about it, I realize I did rows today) . Thursday is a lighter squat, heavy press and rows and Saturday is main DL, bench variation and squat variation. I know almost beyond a doubt that I'll be missing next tuesday and thursday due to being out of town. I'm not going to sweat it that much because I'll be busting my ass 10 hours a day doing manual install work, but I'll try to sneak in a day somewhere so I'm only missing one.

Still alive. Averaging 3x a week but not on a "program" yet.

Today I benched 145x5 x2 and deadlifted 285 for a fairly easy set of 5, then some accessories.

I saw a woman probably 5'8" 190lb bench 235 for a triple, pausing 3 seconds, and with about 2 reps in the tank. Easily the most impressive female feat of strength I've ever seen in person.

Saturday:

Squat 185x5, 235x5, 245x5 x3 sets
Press 75x5, 85x5 x5 sets
Some pull downs and 5 minutes of stairmaster

Sunday: 45 minute brisk walk around the ghetto near my apt. Gonna include more of these. Just gotta keep my butthole tight

Monday:

Front Squat 145x5, 165x5 x3 sets
Then I did "chest" because every bench was being taken. Then some cable rows.

This gym is sick but the problem is that it's crammed in the afternoons and its nothing but true believers, meaning people are doing dozens of sets of squat or DL that take over an hour. I had a guy the other day taking up one of the two deadlift platforms with a bar loaded up with like 495 and literally hitting it for a single every 15-20 minutes. Pretty inconsiderate, but I guess he's earned it. Today all racks were being taken, one by a strong female (different than the 235x3 chick) doing dozens of sets of front squat. She was front squatting when I got there and front squatting when I left. I need to just get up at 5 and go in the mornings.

Nashville for the rest of the week. If I managed a gym visit on Wednesday that'd be a major breakthrough for this thread.

Needless to say. I didn't train in Nashville. Nor on the weekend.

Tuesday:

Deadlifts up to 305x1 @ pretty hard, 285x5 @ pretty easy
Bench Press 125x5, 135x5 x5 sets @ felt good
5 sets of "back"

Gonna go with my ultra subjective RPE system. Because RPE is a social construct anyway like everything else.

I think the 305 was just a bad rep cause I feel like I could have increased my top set 10 pounds without much issue.
