Pfft think you just maxed out, you better get to 5:30 if you want to compete.

I'd be in for SF fittest man. Prob wouldn't do well on running but it'd be fun, esp if there was some organization and a bunch of people going for it.

I don't know much about the C2, but I had some buddies in crew. Major DYELs, its mostly all cardio if doing for 1 hour, but I could be wrong. Ask monte.
I'm thinking more or less the same. I'm sure if 1 hour of metabolic locotarding was an option, that would win, but I think 1000kcal burn on that might be pretty tough. Or maybe not. To be honest, not even sure what exactly that entails.

I did think that the rower would probably be a little bit better because it involves more musculature. All the crew bros I see on the Olympics look way more IEL than distance runners. And its not like these rowing events are all sprints. There seem to be a lot of events where they're out there for quite a while.

Bulgarian split squats 3x5 @90
DB SLDL 3x8 @120
W2D1 chins (90s rest) 5 10 7 5
Incline bench 3x8 @160
TRX fall-outs 4x12

Not starting running program til next week, traveling too much this week.

Also going to fullbody 3x a week, probably for a while. I prefer upper/lower but not possible with all this running.

Right now it's just me and spenda and we have a Texas showdown planned for January. EV was born for this, unfortunately no heart. Video submission is also fine.

You can even submit an alternate test for the run. For example it montecore submits a 405 deadlift, 25 chins, and C2 row of 6min with 100+ calories burnt then we would have to strongly consider that as the winner. Also if Evo wants to submit 450 deadlift, 27 chins, and a sub 2:10 800m well that is probably the winner. But we are not accepting some 400m bullshiet run.

but the chins are not happening. Stopped doing them to failure because they aggravate an injury. I would definitely benefit from training for a sub 2:10 800m though.

Decided to start the running program today, I am going to replace an easy run this week with a hike. Same program as last year, second 4 weeks are extremely challenging.

http://running.competitor.com/2012/0...le_30069/2/amp

Easy run @9:30-10:00min mile
5k race pace @7:30min mile
Current mile pace @6:00min mile
Goal mile pace in 8 weeks @5:40min mile

Interesting thing is both EV and Spenda should have no problem with my 5k race time. But they can't hang for one mile. No heart. But I am not taking it easy on the 5k pace, that really is very challenging for me at the moment. My cardio is weak.

Easy running + strides

Instead did
40min hike/jog 5km
Rest 20min
40min hike/jog 5km

And then walked another 8km. Tired, that's more walking in one day than S&F big boys do in a month.

It was solid though, saw some waterfalls and random animals.

Nuayaca Falls, Costa Rica

I have couple of selfies and a funny girl story, but nah. Keeping personal stuff to a minimum, as you know, a couple weirdos around here. The worst are the ones that never share but use your personal stuff against you. I have been guilty of doing that in the past to my boy fakeb (psychoward comments), and I am sorry for it. So more health and fitness for me and less personal stuff.

I agree that waterfalls are overrated but this one surprised me as I reached. It. I wasn't expecting much after seeing some of the monsters I have seen, but these were solid. One of them had a huge natural pool for dipping.

Oh wow! I've never seen a waterfall like that in real life.....so jelly. My company has a location in Costa Rica, and I've got to find a reason to go!

I would love to hear a funny girl story, but I get why you don't want to post it here.

Funny how we all came to this conclusion after a particular "millionaire sports bettor" rejoined the forum...

Kneeling single landmine press 2x10 @bar+50
W2D3 pull-ups 5 10 8 6

Stir the pot 5x15s

Felt strong, that last set of bench was rpe7.5.

Going to try doing light legs tomorrow after intervals.

W1D4 running 8x200m @mile goal pace w/1min jog recovery
38s 43s 42s 43s 43s 44s 40s 38s

DB Bulgarian split squats 3x5 @90
Paused leg press 3x10 @360
45deg barbell extensions 3x5 @145
Seated calf 3x8 @90

The running was a lot harder than it looked. Well that wraps up week1 and I think the running went A+. Pull-ups were easy and went A-. Deadlift felt heavy, C-.

Good thing is body feels great. Knees and below are 100%. Left hamstring is 95% and left side lower back is 90%+. Upperbody is 100%. Going to keep doing stuff that doesn't hurt, so no back squats. Possibly ever but I have been eyeballing a hip squat belt.

Looks like I need to start cutting immediately. I been weighing in at 163. But this running calculator I found says I will cut 20s off my mile run if I cut 10 pounds. 30s if I cut 15 pounds!!

Looks like I will be cutting to the ultratinybro division. Fack no wonder it's so easy for these little twerps.

This running calculator makes me realize how being tinybro is too much of an edge for running. It's even more of an edge than a bigboy has on the deadlift.

Definitely will be switching S&Fs fittest man competition to the Tactical strength challenge. But first let me make spenda cry uncle first.

I am going to cut to 154 and moving to the fighter pull-up program in a couple of weeks. That should get me to 5:20 mile and 24 pull-ups. Also going to start deadlifting twice a week starting tomorrow. There is this guy that wrote a deadlift book called "off the floor" and it's Cressey recommended. He said deadlifting three times a week is fine (heavy, fatgrip, light). If spenda hitting 255x10, need to deadlift more ASAP.

W2D1 easy run 3.6 miles 34:35

I just realized that running calculator is like a wilks calculator. For example, a 6:25 mile at 185 pounds is equivalent to 5:33 mile at 155 pounds. Ha ha, fakeb is smirking somewhere.

Wilk adjust the deadlift
Weight adjust the run
Weight adjust the chins

And we have a new fittest man in S&F.

Spoiler:
Montecore vs fakeb

FML

Oh well, back to the training ground.
