DT - Cha59 has a long and illustrious history of posting that specific image. You can take your concerns up with him.

yeah, that's one of my all time favorites. I've posted it maybe 3 - 4 times. Its been a while, and this looked like the appropriate time to bring it back

idk what DT's problem is with that pic. Wishful thinking?

Quick workout middle nowhere America

Deadlift 255x4,f 255x5 (mixed)
Dimel 195x7,f 195x7,f

All grip failure. Need straps. Mixed felt strong, could have had 7

Speed deadlift 3x3 195
Zercher 155x8 160x8

No sissy pad. Felt fine

Accessory work

Solid workout except all the grip failure.

Do you have chalk? If not, get chalk imo

Liquid chalk works surprisingly well, if your chain doesn't allow the real stuff.

Why don't you use mixed grip or straps for all your sets of dl especially without chalk.

Agree. I use straps for all my work sets cause otherwise my hands just get tore up

If I remember correctly, Coach's philosophy is that you should train double overhand. For competition fine to go mixed grip for the big PR. But maybe I remembering wrong.

He said I could use straps. But everytime I try, I notice no difference. It still feels like I am going to lose grip of the bar so I let go. I am probably doing it wrong. But I checked on YouTube and that's how I do it. I'll get a video out but need my brother to film so he can catch the bar going to my fingers only and then slipping.

I am not too worried about it. Obviously my deadlift is moving very slow because of it. But I am okay with that because I need to work on form along the way. There is no doubt I can pull 2x bodyweight with mixed grip plus somer upper back round with possibly slight lumbar rounding. But there is no hurry, nice and steady for me. Making sure form is acceptable.

Speaking of bodyweight. I may be chunking up. Definitely back to 10%+. Maybe 162 these days. Have been doing zero cardio and only averaging 3 lifting sessions per week. Strength seems to be going up. And I still haven't lost a belt hole, so I am cool for now.

Confirmed doing it insanely wrong. If you're properly strapped up, grip shouldn't be an issue at all. I agree that double overhand is preferable to work on grip but not if you fail reps because of it. Expert strategy: double overhand until you're close to failing, then switch to mixed. Or just use straps.

You better be getting stronger while getting fatter, abject failure otherwise imo. You get some slack for lifting in strange places though.

Coincidence that as soon as attention is brought to loco possibly shopping his pics he claims he might be getting chunkier? Okay, backtracking is shameful, but since it will lead to genuine pics, we will let it slide.

Please keep us up to date on your attempts to fix your grips. I'm approaching maximum grip strength on deadlifts, too, and will need to begin practicing alternate grips and/or strapping.

Lol. Rhymes he got all cut in his last log, I believe this one is primarily for getting chunky specifically by bulking and then he will cut again. Rinse/repeat.

Not a very good workout, strength wise. Maybe it was the 4 hours sleep. Maybe it was the fact that it was only 13 hours after my last workout. Don't know, didn't hit my reps.

Bench 215x3 2x4 205
Cgbp 2x9 160 (index on smooth)
Slight incl DB bench (hammer grip) 65sx8 6

Started getting depressed after this. Lost two reps on DB bench and 1 rep on bench. I never ever get weaker from workout to workout. The price was right was on the gym tv. This beauty was strolling by on the screen

Grip strength can vary drastically depending on how large your hands are. Long fingers = KUNG FU GRIP.

One thing that helped me was to focus on squeezing the piss outta the bar while flexing my triceps. Think of your arms as steel cables.

Squat rack was 50 miles away. Yet we had 2 free all you can eat pretty good Saturday night buffets. What a dilemma. I will not pig out unless I have worked out. It is what it is, I have my rules. Just went with an upperbody at hotel gym instead of driving 50. Can never go wrong with an everyday is upperbody philosophy.

Chins (parallel grip) +20lb DB 10 10 7
Mach lat pull 2x10 150
Stiffarm cable pulldown 3x12 "8"
Yates row 4x10 117
Dumbell Row 2x20 60s
Reverse barbell curl 2x15 35
Ab wheel 3x20

Here is the postworkout meal
Spoiler:

Can't see the mountain of pulled pork. That plate in the far corner is girlfriends fried crap plate. We also had a mountain of crab

Here is the key though
Spoiler:

Perfect combo of clean foods and insulin spiking dirty foods to create a muscle making nirvana. 200g protein, 2500 total calories.

Ian McDonky will say protein spikes insulin so no need for carbs postworkout. But McDonky has not had this bread pudding/cheesecake ice cream combo so whatevers.
