Thanks guys.

The time has come to pull the plug but my brother's wife says as long as he blinks an eye, she will proceed with life support (he has zero consciousness). . Straight out of a facking movie.

I failed Boston qualification but I got into Chicago, so I applied and got accepted. Chicago it is.

After Berlin, I took it easy but still ran. 16-20 miles a week, but recently a bunch at marathon pace. Fitness is down over 10% according to my watch. It's always surprising how fast I lose fitness and strength when I lower my volume. I never facking come back stronger from a layoff or taking it easy.

As a natty, there is no such thing as overtraining. More is almost always better. Four days after the marathon I felt fine and I should have pushed forward again. But the facking donks said to take it easy for a month. My advice is that deloads for nonpros are fake as fack. Your vacation is a deload, don't ever deload.

But having said that, running 3x a week with 2x a week lifting has brought back the baseball bat boners and a very well sense of being. However, I been drinking more and will be programming again. This time pokerron will be going down. I will have 1 mile, 5k, 10k, half marathon, and marathon records. I have the first two, he has the last three.

I try to think about what the moral to my brother's life is, and I think about his big heart. This guy ran a 4:50 mile with no cross country experience, just playing soccer. He gave so much to his family and didn't receive much in return.

I always very studious, so one of the funniest stories ever was when I tackled US history with Mrs Petrek. Everyone avoided her because she did not give out As. I took her on and she gave out the first A in years. That year I was called as history student of the year for 9th grade for my high school. I was so proud but later on they called 10th grade history student of the year. It was my big bro!!!!!!!!! He don't even study!! That was my big bro. The world was his oyster.

He met a girl. He fell in love and he was devoted, never went to college. He gave up everything for her and his daughter. He didn't take care of himself but he took care of everyone around him. That's the moral, take care of yourself and everyone around you.

Loco,

My deepest sympathy on the loss of your brother.

I’ve lost a brother too. It’s like losing a piece of oneself. I’ve struggled to try to understand the senselessness of losing someone so young and so much a part of my very essence.

I’m so sorry.

Xoxo

Loco,

Sorry about your brother. My condolences.

In other news, I haven't really made any gains in a few years, and was just spinning my wheels, so decided to follow your last advice and cut. Started at ~190 and down to 173. Attached is a nude. Doesn't look much different. Definitely feel smaller and weaker though. Recently did a bench workout and had moderate trouble going 225x8. Realities of natty training, etc. etc.

Attached is a nude. This is first waking up, so moderately cut (such as it is) and dehydrated, but no pump or anything.

Will get down to 165 hopefully in a couple months and possibly provide another update.

Spoiler:

Good luck with everything and I look forward to future updates from you in this log when the muse hits. Also, dunno how long this post will stay up so maybe someone could quote it for posterity.

If that's what 225x8 bench chest looks like, I'm gonna just get out the game right now.

Notbad.jpeg. I think 165 for you is a good target. A little cardio, some lifting weights. You getting that square jaw back, that's never a negative.

Yeah they finished off my older bro about 10 days ago, already went to the funeral. He had a tiny bit of brain activity but he had another stroke, his heart stopped for a bit, and dialysis multiple times and then the family decided to finish him off. Sad way to die, I think you can make the case he got killed off. I don't know, I didn't offer an opinion.

So my younger bro has been drifting from 175 to 190 pounds the last 5 years. He is 175 right now, 38 years old. My other brother passing away made him get some blood work. 400 mg/dll cholesterol!!! Lol he thought he was healthy.

My sister 5'3" 135, I called her out too for being fat. My mom a fatty too, mainly because her husband eats like he is on the last day of death row.

Fat people are hopeless. You cannot help them, they just get offended. I can't help my own family and I am one of the foremost world authorities on bodyfat. The people all say I undereat and over exercise. I exercise 5-6 hours a week and eat 2500 calories a day. Seems like I am the normal one.

I give up on all fatties. I hope they die off, except my mom I hope she runs hot. It's not like I don't contribute, I subsidize fatty health insurance.

Turkey trot 5k 20:00

Dumpster grease fire. Lady told me 7:30 and it actually started 7:15. Then coordinator said no worries we will use chip time. I finished and then he said sorry, since you were late it did not catch you at the start. Lol. But they felt bad and said they would take my watch time. ReLol.

Its still a nice quality workout, I only been running about 15 miles a week, so I been throwing fitness levels in the drain. Conditions were not good either. It was 40 degrees but altitude, climbing, and passing a few hundred stragglers.

If you remember, I ran this two years ago in 24:00 but I was racing versus 10 year olds at the finish. This time I can say that no one under10 was faster. So that's good. Unfortunately 1 Female this year was slightly faster and 1 55 year old male. They came in 20 seconds faster. Zero percent chance I would have not beat them if started with them. Zero. So I am disappointed with the results, but there is always next year. And its motivating me to start running seriously again instead of wasting away fitness, dicking around 15 miles a week.

What kind of fancy turkey trot are running where they chip you? I could be way off here, but I assumed that those things were a lot more casual. Is chipping just standard now?

Also when does your training for Chicago start? Given how relatively untrained you are, sub 3hrs should be within reach.

This Turkey trot is competitive, winner was in 16s. A lot of the high school runners come out and they give trophies.

Chicago is so far away, I should be training for a spring race instead. But I got a lot of work going on, so just chilling losing gains.

Went to my first michelin starred Mexican restaurant, it was in NY. It was fantastic. As suspected, the best Mexican food in the USA is in California, Chicago, and new York. Texas does not belong, mainly because the fatty white southerners bastardized it.

This was the crown jewel

Terrible pic but this is fall off the bone tender pork ribs in guajilla with homemade fresh tortillas. Even the rice was facking delicious and erryone knows my thoughts on rice.

Very highly recommended if you in New York.

Mexican Michelin star for about 30-$40 per person. Do want, do approve.

You got any recs? I'm in Chicago about once a year and all the Mexican food I've had has been pretty disappointing. Except for the Rick Bayless place I went to. But ain't nobody getting out of there for $12.

I've eaten at about half of these, and I would consider it a pretty good list. https://chicago.eater.com/maps/best-...ts-chicago-map Although I'd skip Lena Brava for a different Bayless place - Frontera or Topolabampo imo.

Carnitas Uruapan (mentioned on the list) in Pilsen is a good bet. Also in that neighborhood: Birrieria Reyes is good too. My Mexican friends really like Canton Regio. There's also a couple of fun spots near there to drink - Maria's and Moody Tongue. A personal fav of mine is also in Pilsen, Duseks (1*, not Mexican.) K now I want to go get some Mexican food now even though I've had it two days in a row.

ETA: citanul is also from Chicago and may have good/better recs, I know he likes good food too. And after all, I am just a philistine suburbanite who probably just drinks alone on the floor.
