Roll legs and lats. In hindsight pretty stupid to attempt a 1rm military press considering I've neglected the lift but I was hoping my recent bench/incline gains were enough.

Hopefully have a better showing on Sunday when l test deadlift. Either gonna attempt 405 for reps or =>425+ ..of course there's always a chance I didn't deload long enough and I don't even get 400 but fack that I'm gonna use smelling salts.

Crunchy is right. Lifting more than you look like you can is only good in comps, at the gym, etc. (i.e., when with other lifting folk). For all of the rest of the time the opposite is way better.

Idk, I mainly lift because it allows me to eat how I want and I like getting stronger. How I look isn't as important as how much I can lift. That's how I currently feel anyway.

When people say "I mainly lift because it allows me to eat how I want", the standard interpretation is that "it allows me to eat more without getting fat". In other words, your exercising allows you to eat more without affecting how you look. After all, if you didn't care how you looked, you could just eat "how you want" and get fat (and probably get stronger too, but that's not relevant to the point I'm trying to make).

When you've been mayor of lat city for so long, you forget what it takes to get there. I think you've just been jacked for years now, so you probably take it for granted as your default state. If we could suddenly give you YTFs body but add 20% to all your lifts, I find it hard to believe that you'd take that deal. I'm sure there are competitive lifters out there that would snap accept that deal, but I don't think you're one of them. However, if I'm wrong, let me know.

Evo, half right. I always liked benching because the gains came fast there, but really I was against curls for a loonnnggg time. part of it was because I was always told and read that chinups hit biceps. that was even before I knew what SS was.

I just recently started doing curls at a high frequency in hopes of chasing some gains there and also to burn more calories, so Melkerson is half right as well. I forgot what it's like do look like I don't even lift but I do know what it's like to be fat as fack, so maybe I'm being hella disingenuous saying I don't care about what I look.

IDK what YTF looks like. I never read his log because he said he put h&f on the map and I never heard of him *shrug*.. but 20% for me would be about 220lbs worth to my total lol, so it depends, but you're most likely right and I'm more vein than I say I am

Now I feel dead tired but I'm eating pasta for breakfast, lunch, pre, and had my last maple bar AND I'll use ammonia so I better pull a damn PR.

zzzzzzzzzzzzz no PR

pulled 405x1 @8-9

my right pec (my over side in mixed grip if it matters) cramped up badly and stopped me from attempting a second rep or even wanting to add weight. I rolled my pec out after and it seems good but that was scary.. I've had some pec cramps from pulling before, but nothing like tonight. It cramped so bad that I thought I at least strained it badly.

ate allllll the food this weekend for nothing. I honestly felt like 405x2 was a lock and I was a fav to get 3 and I may have pulled 440+ tonight if I used the smelling salts.. that's probably what I was gonna attempt but oh well.

cut starts tomorrow. let's see if I make it ONE week before donuts.

I think that there are very few people that would, but there are some. I'm thinking olympic competitors and the like. There have been surveys where they've asked competitive athletes what they would sacrifice for a gold (or something along those lines) and many said they would give up multiple years of life. So I don't think it's a stretch that they would pick the YTF body for the gains (and at that level 20% is massive).

I guess the point was that obviously you care some. You're not in that tiny minority that would give anything for gains.

Melkerson- I def care more than I like to admit. Swear my goals currently are 87% strength tho. And I'm probably using the 148lb weight class as my "strength goal" way of being shredded.. u know, if I can actually get low enough to consider a water cut.. and I can with ~7 weeks until making a final decision on the water cut.
