Re: Project ABP

Ah complaints about yuppies and talking about internet alpha male gurus, everyone's favorite part of the ABP saga.

Re: Project ABP

I can kind of understand not chasing women aspect if you're a socially underdeveloped or not self sufficient 30 something looking for purpose through inspiring internet figures/life optimizing gurus, and instead working on your purpose instead, but ABP has kind of maxed out his purpose (gym and brewing coffee etc.) and has women (well at least women on aps) throwing their vaginas at him because he's reasonably attractive, young looking, in decent shape, and whatnot. This is unlikely or less likely to continue to happen as an ABP ages out (grows closer to 40).

That the ABP thinks he's getting powered up by not banging them or something, it's odd, really. He needs another motivational speech from that broken dick friend of his who chases tail.

And where teh fawk is el oh el. In moments of darkness like this I believe only the oracle can help show our leader the way and the light.

ANYHOO, LETS HEAR MORE ABOUT THOSE YUPPIES ABP.

Project ABP

The worst part about this is he’s making a mistake I did when I was young, sexier, and way fitter - that it’d always be this easy. There’s a severe dropoff in women after a certain point, in terms of quality and quantity. Not to mention testosterone starts to fall after 30. He can do him all he wants but in my opinion he’s absolutely wasting his best ****ing years.

j,

You have the audacity to come in here and believe that your life experience could in any way relate to N1? ****ing yuppie. You probably wear shirts where none of the threads dangle off.

Re: Project ABP

I have to say that the level to which my day's yuppiness would have tilted N1 today actually added a certain small level of enjoyment to the day. Today, I:

- Had a nespresso latte (starting most days like this might just make me a bad person, not just a yuppie)

- Walked my kid to his Montessori preschool (not Waldorf, but pretty yuppie)

- Got on the brown line (probably the yuppiest of the lines?) with my pretax commuter benefit (obv yuppie)

- Grabbed mediocre coffee and a mediocre pastry at a Dollop (yuppie shop) before getting in to work at about 9:30

- Worked a pretty demanding day of meetings and computer stuff but had to stack literally zero things on stockroom shelves (someone else put the beer delivery for today's party in the fridge). No manual labor at work --> Yuppie.

- One midday meeting with a potential vendor was at an Intelligentsia (undecided on the yuppiness of Intelligentsia, will have to wait for N1 to rate), where I had a chai (but not with either soy or almond milk, so I lost some yuppie points here).

- During the day I was wearing Rag and Bone boots, AG jeans (N1 hates these!), a Jack spade coat and bag (which I assume he would hate). He'd probably love my American Giant hoodie though.

- My return commute once again did not feature riding a fixed gear bike in 3 inches of slushy snow.

- Later this evening I will likely have sex, assuming I'm not otherwise on my purpose. Total yuppie move.

I take the brown line to work too! High yuppie-five! Oh wait, I don't have sex, I can't be a yuppie.

Re: Project ABP

N1,

I wear cuffed KMW 1980 basically all the time. I have like 4 or 5 pairs since I bought a bunch when they went out of biz and forgot that with some decent care and repair I can get 1000+ wears out of each. So... Hope you like them otherwise I'm pretty ****ed for jeans for the rest of my life!

Cit,

I find it somewhat uncomfortable that if I explained to N1 what I spend my time doing on a regular basis that he'd think its super awesome. I basically leave the house now to: 1) buy food 2) gym 3) go drinking 4) play pokemon 5) play dnd. If that isn't a life worth living, I really don't know what is.

I'm not really sure what N1 views as a yuppie either. It seems like he is more rustled by people who have jobs that aren't gambling? Even tho gambling for a career is pretty shitty and I tell basically everyone to not do it because its so much easier to start at a starbucks and make six figs by the time you're 30 with no variance or real thought required. Just don't be a weirdo and start sending dick pics to your coworkers or act passive aggro to people who buy coffee.

Maybe talking about our retirement planning scenarios would be pretty yuppie? I have a self directed 401k that I use as a vehicle to reclaim taxable income in years I lose money and couple that with my FEI exclusion, so I can save a bunch of money in most years. N1 is asian and asian people love to save money, so perhaps we can get him on board via this soft form of yuppie radicalization.

This can't be considered yuppie anymore, you need blades in the dark or something for that now.

Would be...interesting to see ABP in a setting like that. Prob just blankstare.gif.

Re: Project ABP

Yeah, totally impossible. If only there was some sort of chart that related your e1RM that day to an expected amount of weight you should be able to lift for the prescribed number of reps/RPE which you could then modify as needed based on your understanding of your own training history and a review of your logs. Until that magical day, it's unfortunate that you have to fly blind.

Re: Project ABP

that chart isnt accurate. im doing like 2-3 extra sets sometimes bc %'s are way off.

also why did you have me reduce 30lbs then work up to the top set? i look at aidans log and he just went straight to # of reps @9.

also the drop sets/back offs are too easy. he only calls for like 2-3 drop sets @9 mostly, but i feel i can get 2-3 extra reps.

program is weird. might go back to monte's workout next. that program i exploded. mad gain city. this program has some bs 10 repper @6, @7, etc.. only god knows what weight to push. the lesser reps the more accurate it is to determine.

JUST REMEMBER THE FACT I AM WORKING OUT AFTER MY JOB WHEN I AM PRETTY MUCH WORN OUT FROM MAKING COFFEE FOR PATHETIC YUPPIES WHO COMPLAIN ABOUT A 5c DIFFERENCE IN PRICE BECAUSE THE TAX OR PRICING WHEN UP OR DOWN A BIT. IDIOTS.
