Calories + protein is what I've always done.

I never found the need to nit up fat and carbs. If you have a total calorie goal and a fixed amount has to be protein, there is only so much flexibility that you have for the rest.

Re: Project ABP

ABP correcthorse.gif. Eat lots of protein, avoid donk foods. No need to track macros, that will give you 99% of what you can get from nutrition.

That's what the Realities of Natty training state. Hoist two plates for bench, three for squat, 4 for deadlift. Eat lots of protein. Avoid donk foods but they are okay sometimes (for example excellent pizza, fancy dessert, etc etc).

I taugh him that lesson at the McDs. Guy ordered a combo with sprite. My jaw fell on the floor. Bro, my double quarter pounder with cheese has 60% of the calories and more protein than that meal. And the sprite tastes like sugary shiet and the fries are way better at in-n-out.

Of all of the wrong things you've posted over the years, this might be the wrongest.

I love in-n-out, but their fries are the nut low.

If you want to advance your theory that potatos taste like dogshiet, in-n-out fries would be exhibit A.

Re: Project ABP

I guess that's something that is just preference. My girlfriend always gets fries and I eat a few. McDonald's is solid but I mostly eat the in n out ones, so much that she is forcing me topotentially buy my own fries. And at in-n-out it's always fresh.

Chick Fil A fries tend to be raw for my tastes and I only eat 1. A lot of the other fast food mostly has a freshness problem. And that is almost never the case at in n out. So it's by far my favorite fast food. I like the Popeye spicy chicken sandwich but major freshness problem. The grilled chicken sandwiches at Wendy's and McDonald's sometimes are bricks.

Chick Fil A solid fresh chicken sandwiches, always. No control problem at all.

No. In-n-Out fries are so subjectively bad that they manage to be objectively bad.

They are almost as good as boiled potatoes. To be clear, boiled potatoes are good.

Making a product that is as bad for you as french fries while making it not quite as pleasant as boiled potatoes is reprehensible

If you're going to In-N-Out for the fries you need to reassess your method of choosing food.

Re: Project ABP

I don't think I have ever ordered fries for myself at in n out. Or maybe when I was a little kid my cousin got me some.

I always get the same thing. 3x2 protein style, no sauce, add chilis.

But lately my gf says I am digging too much into her stash.

Adding chilis is solid. At least your taste buds aren't completely dysfunctional.

Also, if you're not doing it, you should get the patties mustard grilled. It's one of the modifications that come with animal-style, but probably the one that adds the least calories (hardly any). It's way better than the regular patty without that. Even Kenji says he mustard grills his own burgers.

I think going with any kind of grilled onion on a protein-style just makes the eating messy (whole might be better in this regard), which is why I didn't suggest it. But with a bun, either grilled onion option is a good addition.

lolol

yup. i remember that night. i was sick AF. we make back almost half of losses. -$17,000!!! to around 10ish. i needed big meal to get rid of flu. ha! i got my meal plus nuggets lolol.

now eating smarter. i would go to local 7/11 for candy. my buddy would see me do this nightly and told me i lost myself. but i got strong AF in the gym. but could not maintain it after diet. lately i have greek yogurt with maple syrup and fruits. 2 servings is almost 40g protein!

i think being FPS macro nit early on in my career made me lazy AF and no shiets given the past 2+ years of nutrition. it was a burnout. got sick of tracking.

now doing it smarter with more protein. i bought this pasta called 'banza'. it is pasta made with chick peas. 2 servings gives me 23g protein. im having around 180g protein/day lately.

Re: Project ABP

WEEK 2 DAY 1

7/21

OHP(5x2, 5x1+):
WU: BARx10x2, 65x5, 85x3
100x5
100x5
100x13 AMRAP

SQUAT(5x2, 5x1+):
WU: 135x5, 155x3
185x5
185x5
185x15x1 AMRAP
Chin Up(AMRAPx2):
10x12
10x5
BB Curl(12x2):
60x12x1
60X11x1

now i could have gotten maybe 2 more reps on the squats AMRAP. but this facking mask make it difficult to breathe. felt like 200x8 final sprint. could not breathe. i literally sat on a mat for like 5 minute to catch my breathe after.

less sore now. and my lower back has less pain once i start to go to the gym. funny how that works.

at work(my new place), this girl keeps asking me facking questions. its getting annoying. i give her 1 word answers.

she also always wants to play this stupid game where you ask yes or no questions, and try to guess the person she is thinking of!!! anyways im about to snap on her soon. she is really annoying.

see you soon. recovering now from gym.

Re: Project ABP

the reason why in n out can't do good fries is that they have arbitrary rules over freshness and iirc they at least used to have a policy where any location had to be able to source all ingredients from no further than 100 miles or something, this is why you rarely see it outside california cause of things like lettuce are pretty location specific where it can be grown

in order to make those amazing crispy on the outside, tender on the inside fries at mcdonalds, they have a lengthy process that includes par boiling and freezing - any fries you eat there were already pre cooked a month ago in a factory in idaho or something

that's why their fries suck

Thanks for turning me on to Greg Doucette. He is hilarious, jacked, and literally talks like Gilbert Gottfried. Seriously, he is awesome.

I'm a little sad you stopped running.

The problem with the fries is that they are not cooked correctly. The only way to make decent french fries is to double fry them at the correct temperatures.

All locations are within a certain distance of one of their distribution centers. This affects tomatoes and lettuce in a positive way. Doesn't affect potatoes at all. Potatoes dgaf.

Wait, so the boys like the twice fried fattier saltier fries from McDonald's? I would have never guessed. I think the old beef tallow ones were even fattier. That's a shame they are gone.

You are not taking it far enough. We'd rather have nothing than in-n-out fries. A glass of water would be greatly preferable.

Cut potatoes soaked in water, then fried low temp in duck fat, then rested in fridge, then fried high temp in duck fat. Dusted with flakes of sea salt.. That is the way to go.

Nah. Potatoes that taste like potatoes are great. Fries that aren't crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside aren't worth eating - just have boiled potatoes and skip the fat completely.

You do realize that in-n-out's poor excuse for fries are, as you say, covered in fat, right? All of the **** nutrition and none of the enjoyment. The only reason in-n-out french fries didn't get put in the DSM-IV as the penultimate example of pica was due to some very strong lobbying and bribes.
