Regardless, I do agree that guy #2 looks pretty ridiculous. I'm not sure if his outfit could be salvaged by the right shoes. Seems like a uniquely bad cut (and maybe color) of jeans for his body.

While guy #1s outfit looks better (both generally and on him), his legs really look photoshopped. But maybe he's every day upper body guy? Calf smaller than forearm is just weird. Thigh smaller than unflexed bicep, too. I guess the photoshopper agreed that the leg+shoe combo that works is long thin thighs.

BIG THIGHS USUALLY MEANS THE DENIM DOES NOT HAVE AGGRESSIVE TAPER DOWN. ITS JUST HOW IT IS. ALL THESE YUPPIE NONSENSE BRANDS TRY TO COME OUT WITH THE 'ATHLETIC TAPERED' BUT THEY DO IT ALL FACKING WRONG.

THAT IS WHY I SAY BIG THIGHED GUYS CANNOT WEAR IT. THEN I REALIZE JUST TAKE MY DENIM TO A SPECIALIST AND HAVE THEM TAPER IT LIKE SKINNY JEANS FOR THE BOTTOM HALF.

Re: Project ABP

He's not totally wrong about the Chinese being "dirty". As the resident virulent racist/guy who's lived in China the last 5 years, I'd just amend that statement to say "MAINLAND Chinese people are dirty and unhygienic." I've been ranting about this in my log/lc thread for years as one of my few gripes about the place.

Most people still believe in Chinese medicine and view other understandings of disease/germs/medicine as "unpatriotic" (until it's something serious/life threatening). As a result, most Chinese people are legitimately confused if you suggest it's a good idea to wash one's hands with soap after defecating and wiping.

Taiwanese/Thai Chinese/Malay Chinese/SG Chinese/HK Chinese and all the rest are incredibly hygienic. Moreso than westerners even.

Re: Project ABP

evo, methinks you've been spending too much time with hanging out with the peasant class of china

not trying to be a dick or nothing, but unless you know the difference between

好的 and 好了from a class perspective then it's extremely unlikely you've spent much time with anything other than lower classes and newly created middle classes

if you eliminate the subsistence farmers and the millions of people who grew up as subsistence farmers and now working as taxi drivers and waiters or sell insurance in a cubicle then it's very much like the rest of those chinese you mentioned

you gotta realize in '49 the majority of anyone with any education fled for those places you mentioned (hence why those chinese are so clean) and it was a massive brain drain - this is why the soviet union had to send in tens of thousands of experts because otherwise there was no way to build bridges or have dental care because all the people who knew how to do that fled to taiwan or singapore, etc etc - one of the main reasons why schools shutting down in the cultural revolution wasn't nearly as destructive as it should have been was because the schools were very much so winging it to begin with at that point anyway

so yeah, you're not wrong, but as a foreigner living in the south you're never going to interact with people who come from the few elite families that chose to stay - 99.9% of the people you interact are either the first or second generation away from uneducated subsistence peasant farming

Yeah agree with all that. Outside of my workplace which is all kids of nu-rich but still have peasant minds, my circle is 100% peasant class. But it wouldn't be any other way since I live in tier 3 city. Shanghai/Beijing/Shenzhen/Guangzhou may as well be another planet compared to the Chinese people I interact with.

But what % of the nation lives in tier 1-2? Very tiny. Most are still in peasant class and are befuddled by the idea of providing soap in all public restrooms or in places where food preparation takes place, both pre and post covid, which is gross.

I'd also be totally unsurprised if propensity to use soap was nearly perfectly correlated with zhongkao/gaokao scores.

It was eye opening going to visit my cousin in Shenzhen. There are Jazz Clubs (plural) where Chinese people go to do pickup jazz jam sessions and drink cocktails. This would be ****ing unheard of where I am in Suzhou; there are basically no Chinese people interested in non-mainstream western culture (especially something predominantly African American), and those that are interested in mainstream western pop culture only have a surface level understanding of it and usually just indulge in it to gawk at foreigners like we're zoo animals.

So, where exactly does "the South" begin in China. I was a bit surprised to learn that Evo's location qualified.

this is the rough gyst of it, like the US it's more cultural/dialect than geographical

i used 3 red stars, top one is Beijing which literally translates to northern capital, bottom one is Nanjing which means southern capital and the one to the left is Xi'an, which is firmly considered the center of the Northwest despite that i didn't get it to fit in the corner

if you want to get into a pure north/south debate, the huai river is their official demarcation

ancient china that you read about in history books is a small region concentrated around those stars but mostly towards xi'an which was the capital for a number of dynasties such as Qin and Tang before it was destroyed in a rebellion - just visited there, basically every time they build a subway line or shopping mall they find boatloads of artefacts -pretty cool visiting a museum and they'll list the factory or the power plant construction site where the figurines were found - one reason why it took them so long to get a subway line was that when they dig that deep they find a ton of stuff so there's a ton of archaelogists at any construction zone

northeast, xinjiang, tibet, & south were not populated by Han Chinese back in the day (Thai, Burmese, Vietnamese (yue on the map below), etc originally lived in Southern China and were pushed into SEA jungle over time)

so when people are talking north/south they're mostly using the "original china" as a starting point - much like our "middle" is not the middle but the "midwest" and used to just be called the west before we took california then modified it with a mid to separate the two

DONT GOT TIME FOR BETA MALE PROVIDER REMARKS OR COMMENTS. DONT ASSOCIATE MYSELF WITH BETA WIMP ASS REPLIES.

MARK IS LIKE THE BETA SIMP THAT AGREES WITH EVERYONES COMMENTS, ITS SIMP BEHAVIOR.

SO LAST YEAR I FELL OFF MY BIKE AND HIT KNEE ON THE PAVEMENT. MY RAWS RIPPED AND BLOOD ALL OVER. I STILL WENT WENT IN TO GET MY LIFT IN. NOW I ONLY HAVE PAIN WHEN I PUSH ON THE BONE. YESTERDAY AFTER SQUATS, I GAVE IT A LITTLE MASSAGE. THEN IT GOT SORE AND MORE SORE. TODAY CAN BARELY BEND MY RIGHT KNEE. I GOOGLE SYMPTOMS AND IT MIGHT BE MY PROXIMAL TIBIA. IT IS RIGHT UNDER MY RIGHT KNEE CAP. HOPEFULLY IT WILL HEAL BY THURSDAY BC THATS WHEN I SQUAT AGAIN.

Re: Project ABP

Actually I fell down on the sidewalk about a month ago really hard, had a swollen eyebrow and both knees and elbows dinner up good and bleeding.

Left elbow to this day still makes me grimace in pain if I forget about it and lean on it. Even just looked repositioning in bed can hurt. Scab on right knee came off a few days ago on it's own and I only found out because blood was all over the sheets. This was over a month ago... the kind of stuff we shrug off as kids is no joke these days.

My bad, should have remembered I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR FEELINGS instead of trying to identify with you over a similar event.

Genuinely don't see the purpose in logging though, at least publicly. Seems like it'd be better to have on excel or something. #nottrollingtryingtounderstandpubliclogpurpose

Re: Project ABP

Have to agree with the ABP on this one. Random fatty donks who don't even lift trying to teach hero. A hero who recently had a 500k sample of 6max at 6bb/100 but question his intelligence. A hero who was on his way to being crowned the greatest Golden ever, after the demise of the fakeB.

And he shouldn't log? Thats the stupidest thing I ever heard and exactly what a nonlogger would say. Health logging is not just about impressing your internet friends it's about compliance and fulfilling your dedication.

Look what has happened to the nonloggers. YTF is dead, he would be alive if he never quit. MLYLT is struggling even though she is logging but she is not gaining weight. She gained facking 70 pounds in a year without logging!!! And even legends of the fitness game such as myself, struggle. It's so facking hot, I haven't run in two weeks. If I was logging, I would have found time to hit a few treadmill sessions.

And while the forum is slow these days, you still have H&F legends such as montecore, kidcolin, Aidan roaming around here, willing to offer a helping hand with strength and fitness related questions.

Of course the marks, rickrolls, and jmakins will never understand. Potbelly doughboys who contribute nothing but negativity.

Amen

Re: Project ABP

Ask montecore why he logs. He is arguably the greatest h&fer of all time (he was never golden only because his aesthetics fail him).

And yet not a single person who doesn't log has a decent physique. There have been a couple of guys who showed up who had decent physiques and of course I called them out for being fakers (and were mostly on drugs). A million reasons to log and that's why no log equals no existence here. Zero cred & respect. You get my drift bro?

Hero has tons of cred and respect in this health and fitness forum. He looked like the marks, ricks, and jbakons of 2p2. Huge potbelly doughboy. Transformed his physique 180, to a walking Greek statue before Corona weathered him away. Impressive as fack and to the 10th power when it's all logged and natty!!! I know I have said it many times before, but it's worth repeating every year. Kid is a legend around here and also an example that H&F can guide a potbelly to the promised land. And now he is on comeback trail, logging every step. Exciting times!

Who is next? I bow and suck your dick for any effort to change your h&f. I will do personal research for you and be supportive.

I use to criticize my boy Arjun because of his shiet genetics and lack of gains. Guy kept slamming his forehead against the wall but is killing it these days. Respect and his words are now heavy with meaning.

Log or gtfo.

I am momentarily out of commission because busy with work and the Corona killed off all races for the foreseeable future. But still grinding 3 to 4x a week and I will be back. I have to or I will die. It's that simple.

Re: Project ABP

Again a wall of text without a single line answering the question?

It was a fair question. Why you so butthurt and defensive over asking what the purpose of logging is.

And what's with all these insults? Especially on people's appearances. You literally have no idea what they look like or how strong they are. Why randomly assume anyone who doesn't log has a pot belly.

You reek of insecurity loco.

Re: Project ABP

Loco,
He does deserve some criticism for stopping resistance training completely and going full cardio tard. He could have been doing pushups, pull-ups and other body weight stuff or gotten a vest or bands. I recommended this and you have mentioned the success you have had training with limited equipment. He could have maintained muscle mass and limited strength loss if he did this, instead he’s struggling to bench 135.

Re: Project ABP

Yes. But the important part is he kept up the h&f aspect. Lost 10 pounds and started running. He was probably in 6:15 mile shape a couple of weeks ago.

You could say the same thing about the montecore, after he took up rowing. That's the big rock, keep the h&f game going. But of course very disappointing to see montecore lose his bench gains.

By the way, if you don't log you are 99% chance a potbelly. Awaiting noodz to take anyone off the list and at least bump cred up a tad and get off my potbelly shietlist. I define a potbelly as excess fat in the belly region. Obviously powerlifting savants like Aidan and beechnuts have fat, but it's not a potbelly.

Potbelly very unhealthy and it makes even a skinny a fatty, from a health perspective.
