liking you. i skip no days off. even with a fever during ABPxLoco Pt.1 i went in and got my lift in.

i like the spicy shrimp poboys. but it isn't spicy enough... also they good go easier on the bread. and less lettuce. but i dont mind. the beignets could be my staple carb diet, but none here.

Beignets in Chicago:

1. Big Jones (in Andersonville. Also, has a bourbon passport thing that's pretty cool.)
2. Jimmy's Pizza Cafe (Lincoln and Foster. Also, maybe the best NYC style pizza in Chicago.)
3. Luella's (in Lincoln Square. Also, generally good southern food including very good fried chicken)
4. Lowcountry (I haven't had here but there appears to be on in Lakeview for you to try out.)
5. I'd assume any of the other cajun/crab places.

I can only assume you literally didn't consider googling "beignets Chicago," and didn't realize that all the ingredients are in the baking aisle at Jewel. Unlike southern biscuits, there's really no secret here just generic carbs and fats.

Can you clarify what you mean by southern biscuit and the secret? I'm guessing you mean cold butter, but after a quick google there seems to be some disagreement about milk/buttermilk (an eternal debate).

Regardless, this is literally the first time I've heard the term, but Paula Deen has a recipe for "southern biscuits" so I'm probably just a simpleton eating too much cornbread.
