LOL. Your opinion is invalid. ALL powerlifting was geared until relatively recently. Raw lifting is fairly new. It allows people who are less serious about the sport to compete. Very few people can put up 2500+ totals and your boy is definitely not one of them right now. How about a prop bet - what is your bench press pr? You pick the bench shirt of your choice. Work with it for 3 months. $1000 says you cant double your bench in the shirt.

I'm assuming his bench is somewhere in the low 2's?

For $500 loco, you can come here and we'll teach you how to win that bet, fairly easily imo.

We even have tubs full of shirts, so you're covered there.

A suggestion: to prevent the devolution of your thread, you should ban all non lifting posters from posting ITT. No video or log of sq/bp/dl with a barbell= not allowed to post.
80% should be around 8RM. Not surprising he is doing more on sq/DL. He was underestimating RPE on those in his previous log

Just wow, wow, wow. Good chance he breaks his back and cries uncle. Or he gets enshrined as the greatest Golden ever (rip fakeB). It's gonna be a good season of N1hater, that's fosho.

Re: AMRAPs, beesch is obviously correct.

Re: getting bigger in general, Evo is obviously correct, but it's equally obvious our hero has made his decision. I'm interested to see how it works out. Hopefully orange chicken improves recovery.

Powerlifting is literally weightlifting for the ******ed. Geared is a smaller niche just with a few more people helping out, lube, trash bags, and bondage.

Good luck future-ABP! Wish you the best, but hope you open to advice this time.

Just getting to the point where I’m pretty much pain free day to day. Last few times I’ve squatted or deadlift sciatic has flared up a bit for a week following. Don’t wana **** it up again where it’s 6mo of pain every time I sit down. But yeah starting this week going to be doing some more BB style lower body and maybe at some point get back to squatting. We’ll see.

Weightlifting still master race or strength sports ainec. But you'll admit its fairly inaccessible; tons of people literally won't have access to the equipment needed to even start.

Close down to advice from self-proclaimed alpha males with youtube channels and e or print books.

Can someone explain to me exactly why weightlifting >>> powerlifting? I've figured out that's what most of the cool kids think, I'm not sure I've figured out exactly why.

non-nerds grunch
If you spend 3 months learning the lifts and get semi-competent at them, it'll be very hard to disagree, however you probably don't have the time or patience so here's a list of why it's better and a few aspects in which its worse.

Spoiler:
1. The technique requirements are exponentially higher, making it overall harder to learn and more impressive to watch and more rewarding when you succeed. Watching it in action looks cool as ****, whereas sq/dl/bp are fairly simple movements that are more mundane. Still very cool, imo, but lacks the grace and nuanced precise movement displayed during a snatch or cj. As an actual lifter, it is far more fun to actually execute the lifts and the rush of excitement and endorphins from completing a maximal snatch or clean and jerk makes sq/bp/dl look like playing with toy trains.

2. The $$$ is far higher; olympic sports have always been a way for countries to compete in dick measuring, which is exceptionally important to the ones who aren't doing so well in terms of living standards/human rights/economic freedom, but still important to non-loser countries. Successful athletes make a **** ton of dough doing it and countries pour a lot of money into developing really good athletes.

3. Along with point 2, the real genetic elite from non-western countries display their might here. This is not true of powerlifting; a larry wheels level gifted athlete is fairly common among WLers.

4. You are watching professionals who live their entire lives around it and have started from comparatively young ages, and with this level of professionalism, performance is much higher. Despite harsher drug testing, if you threw a belt on some fairly mediocre national level wlers in China/Iran/Russia and taught them to LBBS, they'd destroy a lot of the best powerlifters. Many of them can literally out hbbs the best lbbsers. I guess there are some "powerlifting professionals", but they are usually e-book/training program/coaching salesmen first and powerlifters second, in terms of money coming in.

Why it's worse:

1. Inaccessible. Most people around the globe literally will not be able to start weightlifting even as a self coached athlete. And let's not forget that a coach is much more necessary just because of the technicality.

2. The physiques ewwwww

3. As a viewer: uneven drug testing/drug testing at all. If it were a full free-for-all for everyone, it'd be awesome. Problem is if it wasn't an olympic sport, all that $$$ would vanish and with drug testing getting better and better every olympic cycle, I somehow doubt the IOC will change its mind about keeping things clean just to make one sport cooler and more watchable.

Arguably higher injury risk? but honestly I'm not sure
10-07-2019 , 06:20 AM
Powerlifting is where it's at. It's a sport where big balls can get you impressive lifts, even without steroids. This forum rose as a Rippetoe Utopia that is now mostly dead. Guys like N1 and beechnuts (my apologies good sir), keep the dream alive.

Olympic lifting is a ridiculous clown show. The clean and jerk is cool but the facking snatch is one of the stupidest things I have ever seen. WTF at hurling a weight over your head like that, what the hell is the point? Olympic weightlifting should be deadlift and clean and jerk.

at risk of getting trolled, why bother going to extremes instead just a regular workout routine and what the point of trying to get super jacked given that the physical attraction peak is not that of a body builder but rather someone with a v chest and low fat content

Well, anti-hero has shown an interest in men with thongs already, so his view of what is aesthetically pleasing is probably somewhat out of the norm.

Also, evoprofilegif.gif.

Bear in mind this fella is 5'6 on a good day. Ever seen a successful straight male bodybuilder without a fairly hot gf? Neither have I...
Spoiler:

Films like Dennis and similar sentiments are pure cope on the part of the cultural puritans who can't stand the idea that women are as attracted to tacky caricatures of physical masculinity to any extent comparable (but admittedly less so) than men are to analogous caricatures of the female form (fake tits, bimbos, pornstars, strippers, Danielle Derek types and the like)

I agree with pretty much wat Emoken said. The plus side is when the aspie progressives come and flex the "I'm stronger than you" card, they don't realize they brought piss to a **** fight, which is also pretty amusing.

Also, nothing like the body of Ilya Ilin, who aside from the hair, could fit into any random office as a kinda chunky thicc boi. Even the peak drugged Soviets. (RIP Yuri)

Anyway, I can can show up to an PLing meet and finish. Cha, for example, literally wouldn't be able to total. He'd bomb out.

Also, loco, pump the breaks on the idiot trolling. I know this is your thing, but you're getting way out there man. Know your bro died and ****, but posting really dumb challenges and hot takes prob isn't the way to deal with it.

For aesthetics... the superior wl race enters Loredana Toma https://www.instagram.com/p/B3R11dQA..._web_copy_link and a jillion 2nd-3rd tier wl ig ass models e.g. @sydneygoad et al. The end. K.

OP:
Divulge terms of loco deals and we can advocate for you. E.g. how much per orange did you get for cashing (otherwise uncashable) chips? This is protected speech on a gamblin' man forum, loco can't silence you (fact: this is what protected speech is!). Grunch at your own peril k?

That squat day looks beyond ridiculous, 80 reps??

I thought it was 30 reps and then 30 down reps, so 60 total.
10-09-2019 , 01:18 PM
Get a nice ab wheel on Amazon, the cheap yellow and black one breaks
