LUCKILY FOR ME I HAVE BIG THIGHS, BUT MY BOTTOM HALF ARE PRETTY MUCH LIKE THE 1ST GUY, THEY ARE SLIM. THEN MY THOUGHTS CHANGED. SO WHAT I DID IS TAKE ALL MY DENIM AND GET THEM TAPERED KNEE DOWN AND HEMMED LIKE THE FIRST GUY BECAUSE MOST DENIM I BUY HAS TO FIT THE TOP BLOCK(BC OF MY THIGHS). THAT MEANS THE LOWER HALF OF THE DENIM IS GOING TO BE BIGGER TOO. THIS IS WHAT I MEANT.

I RECOMMEND A LEG OPENING NO MORE THAN 6''. ANYTHING BIGGER AND YOUR FIT IS OFF.

I'm glad that you are capable of changing your opinions over time, though it's a bit distressing that it took you 18 months to realize that what you thought were thighs were actually calves.

Regardless, I do agree that guy #2 looks pretty ridiculous. I'm not sure if his outfit could be salvaged by the right shoes. Seems like a uniquely bad cut (and maybe color) of jeans for his body.

While guy #1s outfit looks better (both generally and on him), his legs really look photoshopped. But maybe he's every day upper body guy? Calf smaller than forearm is just weird. Thigh smaller than unflexed bicep, too. I guess the photoshopper agreed that the leg+shoe combo that works is long thin thighs.

#2's outfit is very unflattering with or without the shoes, though. The jeans fit him like sweatpants two sizes too small. The shoes do look bad on him, but mainly because of the pants.

Put him in a better fitting outfit and the shoes won't look as bad. I don't know if they'd look good or just less bad...but that would be the starting point to find out.

Merrell makes good shoes, mostly for hiking/outdoorsy stuff, and work shoes for tradesmen/blue collar jobs. They're generally not what I would call stylish. They're for the LUNCH PAIL BLUE COLLAR FOLKS. My kitchen shoes are Merrell, paid $110 for them about 4 years ago and they're still going strong, wearing them 5 days/week. QUALITY.

Guy #2 looks like the last time he washed those jeans was in the 90s.
