However, for the same reason, ABP should not be deriding random customers and proclaiming his superiority based on bizarre and irrelevant criteria. This is analogous to non-lifters coming in here and trashing on him. It is analogous to YOU thinking that you have what it takes to be an elite strength athlete, bodybuilder, or mathematics academic, despite having no experience with any of these things.
As rickroll points out, you have a tendency to underplay and deride the accomplishments of others, particularly when you're not exactly familiar with what they actually do. It's not just me you do this to (we'll get to that), but g4s, and I recall you had a weird dick measuring with citanul where you automatically assumed what he does is not challenging, worthwhile, or indicative of accomplishment. This may be a coping mechanism on your part, but I will be more charitable and assume it's more the aforementioned dunning-krueger effect, where people who have only peripheral or no familiarity with something assume that expert status is much easier than it is.

Even at this part time job I took solely for the work visa, which is easier to manage than a student visa, I STILL taught far more hours of AP stats and national chinese curriculum math than english. In total throughout my 5 years, I have several thousand hours of econ teaching, a few hundred hours of math/stats, and a few dozen english teaching hours. My students often joke that I'd be an awful English teacher, and I agree wholeheartedly. I'm at my cubicle getting ready for the day now, my nearest co-worker has a degree in mathematics and theoretical physics from Cambridge. Another one dropped out of a CS phd 3 years in from UW. Another one just finished his masters in financial mathematics at liverpool university (they have a campus near us and he actually only spent 1 year in the uk). I have a master's degree in economics with a concetration in quantative finance. The econ program had an enormous 40% attrition rate while I was there, though admittedly the pure quant finance (no econ) program was a bit of a diploma mill they refused to fail anyone. As I mentioned earlier, I exceeded the level of educational attainment and income of either of my parents at their peak earning years when I was 25 years old, despite this being the peak of my mentally ill days (which you bring up as if it's an insult or something you can just will to go away). Of the students I've had over my career, 6 have gone on to cambridge, 4 have gone to oxford, 1 to brown, and one is currently waitlisted at Berkeley (I don't think he'll get in, English too bad). I may self deprecate my own employer for being a joke in the way it handles middle and low level students, but when it comes to the top, we do NOT **** around. Lastly, I've completed the HSK 4 exam and have been self studying for the level 5. The highest level is 6. My cousin who is a professional translator in Shenzhen has passed 6, so 5 is not ****ing around. I am one of 2 foreign teachers who can communicate fine with parents in Chinese; the other is an ABC.
I actually never ever blamed "the system" for my decision to not continue with PhD dreams. In fact, about a year ago, I sent DeeplyMiserable a pm thanking him profusely for the tough love when he told me that pursuing this would make me miserable. The gist of it is that I would have been a very small fish and a very ****ing stressed one in that life, whereas I can lead a much more balanced satisfying, and successful life doing something cognitively easier because I am simply not naturally intelligent enough to be anything but a bottom 25% finance/econ professor, which is often a very difficult life where you are fighting hard to earn tenure or lose your job and have to start the stressful process over again. Learning Chinese, which is hard, is MUCH easier than 1st year phd econ/finance coursework or even master's coursework.
Regarding steroids, you, me, and g4s have gone around in circles about this for years now. You can live in your fantasy land where your 500mg/wk test cycle will result in you front squatting 600 and winning master's olympia if you wish. Take me out of it then. Look at Saw, FakeB, Natty years RealB, fredd-bird, BTM, or countless others. At this many years of training, they were far exceeding n1h. You give him a pass for some reason. Orange guy does rdls with 95lbs and does an RPE4 calling it an RPE 7 and you call him out on it. N1h does an RPE 7.5 and calls it a 9 and you're silent. There's nothing "wrong" with not training hard, but you should probably not then declare 'I HAVE MORE HART THAN ANYONE!!1!". I'll be the first to admit n1h had the best years 1-2 we've probably ever seen. Since then though? unimpressive.
You have a habit of assuming some people are just better than others, as evidenced by your post saying that if montecore makes the exact same post it's somehow valid whereas if I say it, it is not valid. And this is solely because of your subjective assessment of our respective personal lives (which in my case is riddled with inaccuracies. I suspect you know they are not true, but also know I was formerly very insecure about it and felt like an impostor given that multiracial divorced parents childhood sexual abuse mentally ill people do not often end up with graduate degrees in quantitative subjects and learning difficult foreign languages and having successful careers and say these things and deliberately misrepresent this to make me feel bad. But you failed.). Rickroll has just pointed this out as well. We know exactly where n1h gets this tendency to cope with his situation by tearing others down. It's from you. I mean ultimately it's his decision to behave like this, but you clearly influenced him and even you acknowledge this as destructive and abrasive. You are only slightly better than the non hfers coming in here to just mindlessly dunk on the guy... at least you're trying to help, even if some of the things you do are holding him back.
Finally, English teachers need a 4 year degree to even have a job in China. This does constitute some kind of accomplishment. Living in China is NOT easy. If it was, why do the vast majority of westerners leave within the first 2 years? I know you have a low opinion of China because of a previous experience (no, I will not e-weaponize this against you, that's stupid), but interacting with Chinese in America vs LIVING in China are very different things. It's ****ing hard to leave behind all your friends, family, home comforts, and way of life and come into a fairly harsh, difficult to navigate, and sometimes literally hostile environment. Even among people who do this, people who take it a step further and learn the language are extremely rare. I know an English teacher who came here 15 years ago. He's a literal missionary and is ultra active in his church. Twice a year during vacation times he goes to either rural china or war-torn parts of Africa to volunteer (and convert, of course). Is he a loser becuase he's an English teacher in China? Is a guy down on his luck who moves to China to teach kindergartners a "loser"? That's stupid and immature; you've never even lived here, how do you know?

I actually never ever blamed "the system" for my decision to not continue with PhD dreams. In fact, about a year ago, I sent DeeplyMiserable a pm thanking him profusely for the tough love when he told me that pursuing this would make me miserable. The gist of it is that I would have been a very small fish and a very ****ing stressed one in that life, whereas I can lead a much more balanced satisfying, and successful life doing something cognitively easier because I am simply not naturally intelligent enough to be anything but a bottom 25% finance/econ professor, which is often a very difficult life where you are fighting hard to earn tenure or lose your job and have to start the stressful process over again. Learning Chinese, which is hard, is MUCH easier than 1st year phd econ/finance coursework or even master's coursework.
Regarding steroids, you, me, and g4s have gone around in circles about this for years now. You can live in your fantasy land where your 500mg/wk test cycle will result in you front squatting 600 and winning master's olympia if you wish. Take me out of it then. Look at Saw, FakeB, Natty years RealB, fredd-bird, BTM, or countless others. At this many years of training, they were far exceeding n1h. You give him a pass for some reason. Orange guy does rdls with 95lbs and does an RPE4 calling it an RPE 7 and you call him out on it. N1h does an RPE 7.5 and calls it a 9 and you're silent. There's nothing "wrong" with not training hard, but you should probably not then declare 'I HAVE MORE HART THAN ANYONE!!1!". I'll be the first to admit n1h had the best years 1-2 we've probably ever seen. Since then though? unimpressive.
You have a habit of assuming some people are just better than others, as evidenced by your post saying that if montecore makes the exact same post it's somehow valid whereas if I say it, it is not valid. And this is solely because of your subjective assessment of our respective personal lives (which in my case is riddled with inaccuracies. I suspect you know they are not true, but also know I was formerly very insecure about it and felt like an impostor given that multiracial divorced parents childhood sexual abuse mentally ill people do not often end up with graduate degrees in quantitative subjects and learning difficult foreign languages and having successful careers and say these things and deliberately misrepresent this to make me feel bad. I mean ultimately it's his decision to behave like this, but you clearly influenced him and even you acknowledge this as destructive and abrasive. Finally, English teachers need a 4 year degree to even have a job in China. This does constitute some kind of accomplishment. Living in China is NOT easy. If it was, why do the vast majority of westerners leave within the first 2 years? I know you have a low opinion of China because of a previous experience (no, I will not e-weaponize this against you, that's stupid), but interacting with Chinese in America vs LIVING in China are very different things. It's ****ing hard to leave behind all your friends, family, home comforts, and way of life and come into a fairly harsh, difficult to navigate, and sometimes literally hostile environment. Even among people who do this, people who take it a step further and learn the language are extremely rare. I know an English teacher who came here 15 years ago. He's a literal missionary and is ultra active in his church. Twice a year during vacation times he goes to either rural china or war-torn parts of Africa to volunteer (and convert, of course). Is he a loser becuase he's an English teacher in China? Is a guy down on his luck who moves to China to teach kindergartners a "loser"? That's stupid and immature; you've never even lived here, how do you know?
