everybody is paid differently. my manager told me the catastrophe pay is based off average hours back in Feb. I ALWAYS COVERED FOR DRUNK STUDENTS WHO WERE HUNG OVER TO COME IN FOR WORK. I ALSO TAKE HOURS AT DIFFERENT STORES AND WOULD TAKE OTHER PEOPLES HOURS BC THEY SIMPLY DON'T LIKE TO WORK. THOSE HOURS ALL ADDED UP AND I HAD A HUGE FEB. THAT IS WHY IM ALMOST GETTING PAID FULL TIME HOURS FOR MY CASTROPHE PAY. DO NOT TELL ME TO BE THANKFUL FOR THE ADVANTAGES WHEN I HAD TO WORK FOR THEM. You have the advantage that starbucks decided to pay you - not everyone is so lucky. They absolutely didnt have to do that and couldve just laid you off like every other company is doing. There were 22 million unemployment claims in march. People are hurting, you are not, be thankful for it rather than puffing your chest and claiming how superior you are. I used to work a menial job for probably half of what he makes. The view from below is definitely a lot like some of the stuff he says about “yuppies.” I totally understand it. I just think it would be good for the log to show a little more humility. The act is stale even for me, ABP #1 fan.

I understand that he feels too stupid to do like jamakin (we can't all be smart). But if be had any balls he could get a job in the trades - make $50/HR - and never encounter a yuppie again. He wont do that though, because he's a little ***** boy.

ABP is clearly smarter than me at least. Before the 'rona I was making $16/hr working a job which required me to spend $21k on vocational school and I had 8 years of experience kicking ass in various kitchens. The restaurant industry is completely ****ed now and will be for years to come.

The only difference is that I actually liked my job, while ABP has nothing but contempt for everything about his job.

I've started learning python in an effort to make my quarantine time useful. It's k. I have no idea how good I'd need to be at it to get a programming jerb though.

They gate these jobs with degrees. The functional knowledge you need to be successful programming is very little and almost none of it you learn in school.
