But seriously, I have some admiration for the montes and Kelhuses of the world who can do the marrying early and dadding with high investment in one partner and kids. It takes a lot of sacrifice that weaker fellas like myself and villain just aren't capable of (yet, at least). Especially in 2020 in a western country where the legal system can heavily punish you for even just perceived ****ups or inadequacies.

It's a tough bullet to bite and I'm glad they can do it for us lolol.

Is it possible to run slowly with good form? Sure, I guess. Is it probable for most people? Not really.

There are two components to pace - stride length and turnover. To run at a slower pace, one or the other, but almost always a combination of both, need to decrease. Form deteriorates rapidly once stride length starts decreasing by a significant amount. You just can't keep good form while chopping your steps short. This causes shock to your legs that just doesn't happen at a higher pace. Most people also begin to heel strike at this point, further reducing the body's natural shock absorption.

Look didace, I don't want to run you outta here. I been known to do that to new guys because they don't log. But here is the thing, if you don't log its all fake. If you did something 20 years ago, it's all fake.

That's the beauty of H&F. Logging makes it real. The people know I keep up with the science of running and natural lifting because I log. To catch up with all the newest running stuff, you would have to read Fitzgerald's 80/20, The science of Running, the podcasts by Dr. Stephen Seiler, and the super nerdy stuff from Dr Inigo San Millan. All stuff that I have already researched extensively.

And not just that, I actually run almost everyday. I am not just a Boston Qualifier, but I take on ex-collegiate athletes at mile races. Sure I don't win the damn thing because I am not going to run a 4:30 mile without some serious training and burning some muscle away, but my 5:10 mile at age 41 (I am 42 now) is respectable. And my online coach is 3 time Olympian Nick Willis. The 200m repeats I gave my boy N1 were a lighter version of what Nick has me do. He is still young enough that he can do more sprinting but that's not gonna happen the first day. I wanted him to top out at little slower than 4:00 mile pace, super aggro even taking into account his lifting.

So yeah, that's the beauty of this forum. We don't get crazy uneducated donkey posts like the politics and finance forums because the guys here actually work out everyday and keeping up with science. So when new guys come in yapping nonsense, they Grandpa Simpson turn around and out of the forum.

You are welcome to start a log and tell us all about the good old days. But you are going to have to catch up fast on the science and start logging some actual runs before anything you say gets taken seriously. That's the beauty of H&F, small community but no fake shiet around here.

man. legs felt heavy that last mile but i push it. i keep nice pace but for some reason my brain telling me to go faster deep into the run. ABP MENTALITY.

doing 3 miles soon. legs and thighs and crotch a bit sore, but not stopping me.

Was that continuos or did you do the 200m repeats in there?

If it was continuos, that's a tempo run. That's pretty good if you had some gas in the tank. Means you are good for 1 mile in the mid to high 6s. A natural runner most likely.

I mean you could start getting more aggro next week

Easy run 5 miles (9:30 max speed,should feel like jogging on beach and you can talk to yourself in sentences)

Tempo run 3 to 4 miles (you should feel uncomfortable, maybe 8:00 pace)

Easy run 3 miles (9:30) max pace

That would be aggro for a beginner but I went out way harder when I first got started. If you have a lot of heart, anything is possible. But I regretted it, I got lucky that I was learning at the same time and adjusted in time to make endurance training a lifetime hobby.

If I were you, I would be more worried about my muscle. 200m repeats and hard pushup/pullup variations. Serious distance running is for DYELS.

The more runs he posts, the more info we will know. But a 4 miler in 32:00 does not really tell us much, we need heart rate data to know more. But it does tell us he is in decent shape, I mean I think he can already outrun Arjun.

Knowing the kid, it was faster than tempo pace. Which is fine, he has a lot of heart. There are whole training programs based on higher intensity stuff and its usually lower mileage. There is no way regular humans can run these. I have in the past and I know my boy could do it too, but then he is going to look back at running with the donk mentality that he didn't enjoy it.

Anyways, I am not going to spend too much time on this because he is going to give it up when the gyms come back. I spent a little bit just in case he wanted to learn. Nah, he just wants to run fast. As an aside, my younger brother is same height and about the same weight as N1. More upperbody muscle but a lot less lowerbody muscle. His bodyfat is higher.

Using the HRM, we worked out his easy pace at 11:00 to 13:00 a mile!!! He had massive aerobic drift for an easy 5 miler. Started at 10:30 and ended up at 12:30. LOL. He so out of shape.

Now, N1 doing 4 miles in 32:00 a great sign. But again, that for sure was faster than tempo. I know the kid, too much heart.

it was 4 miles continuous. u tell me to do that for 2 weeks and get back to you, but seeing that i have big heart, u are changing some plans for me.

what is DYELS?

i did push ups/triceps yesterday. weak af. 3 weeks no training will do this to ectomorph. i did 3 sets push ups 30/20/20 then tricep dips BWx15x3. sore af right now. my right pectoral kept on getting stuck. had a massive pump after.

no. when the gym opens i will continue to run. i want to live the aesthetic/powerlifting/EV lifestyle. all of last year i sat around 15%ish body fat. no abs, but didn't look bad. beach season upon us soon. it is hard to do both, but i got the big heart like u say.

the one i met? he is a nice guy. his chelsea boots was nice, but i think he should upgrade. Allen Edmonds going downhill. RM Williams suits him well. most comfortable boots ive ever worn. whole cut leather, not like the rest of these clown yuppie brands. a classy guy like him needs it. he would love it.

loco knows. no one can stop me as long as i have the big heart that i have. not even a flu stopped me from a lift session during ABPxLoco. I HAD AMRAP DL THAT DAY.

i do this today.





i warm up to the donk track as you can see. i did 8x200m like you say. 1:30-2:00 minutes slow jog in between. was gassed after. so i tried to time 1/10 of a mile. i was around 35-40 seconds. i think that is slow. 200m not my race. i think 100m is my type. usain bolt ran 19.39 200m back in London. that is crazy.

should i keep doing this? my legs are sore between yesterday and today. might need a rest day tomorrow.

just got news i am off til the end of the month. all paid. love it.

then i got news that in a couple of weeks i can come work at another location. all orders will be mobile, and pay will add +$3 to hourly. how about no.

i got my 1st catastrophe pay direct deposit today. was expecting much much less. not sure how they determined the # of hours but i will take it.

The training is never hard/hard on back to back days. Its always easy/hard. I normally do easy/easy/hard/easy/easy, but with mile training I am doing two hard. You just did easy/hard/hard, of course you should take a freaking day off.

And if your 200s are slow, then your 100s are going to be slow. You not a speed demon bro. Where you pretty slow to first base? But you can do 100s if you want, I don't really measure them and instead do strides from 10s to 20s. Look up strides.
