Gonna go out on my limb here and declare you wrong. I, a yuppie, see many other people I would describe as yuppies (meaning a subset of the people you would call yuppies) wearing CP. They're a luxury sneaker company commonly sold at Nordstrom, Barney's, and Neiman Marcus. Pretty much the definition of yuppie is wearing a $350 Stan Smith lookalike with gold foil numbers to make sure everyone knows your sneakers are expensive. There is almost nothing about the brand that is "streetwear" as that term is commonly understood.

But please educate me on how high value broke fashionistas are going into Barney's, paying cash for grey Achilles, and then scoffing at the ibanker buying the same shoes as them for not knowing which jeans to pair with them.

As long as you wear clothes that fit and have a reasonable fashion sense this will be fine to 95% of the female population including 10s. Your career, access to fun/cool ****, social network/status, looks (height), physique, and personality are overall bigger factors than what hip brands you wear.

I've had the really nice brand clothes, watches, and even cars (Ferrari/Porches), most girls don't care all that much. It's mostly a bunch of dudes who are into it. You know how many girls approached me while wearing/driving cool ****? About 0 as far as I remember. Simply being in good shape outweighs all that in terms of attractiveness to most girls.

I'm intrigued (as ever) by cognitive dissonance (in this case specifically his). The fact that he possesses and swears by some notion of assortative matching, however shallow and regurgitated it may be, has always been at odds with his actions and inactions. Fundamentally, if he doesn't break himself of thinking of people as "a 6" or "a 10," he'll never be able to understand that while there are factors TC mentions that generally are positives across all humans, without the fundamentals of well-matched underlying interests and ethos satisfying relationships are unlikely. Which is sad.

In smaller words what I mean is that while most women that (on average) society thinks of as "high value" would be bored to tears by an ambitionless ****boi without real hobbies and moderate knowledge of streetwear brands, there are likely equally vapid tinderellas out there who are working retail and then dumping a week's pay on shoes with red soles.
