So I was up late last night watching best vine compilations on youtube (I know, my life is exciting), and got to bed later than I should, and got woken up early by Mrs. Wizard. I was tired walking to the gym and during warm ups, so I was fairly certain today was going to be awful since I was set to max everything out.

10 pound PR today. Was ecstatic when I nailed 200. It was actually a little shaky standing up, but I evened it out. I even did a little fist pump after I hit 200.

I tried 205, but didn't even get under it, the confidence just isn't there yet, but soon. I'm pretty thrilled to hit a 200# snatch, probably more so than any other milestone to date.

I didn't get it on video. I was thinking about whipping out the camera, but I was superstitious about bad camera joo joo, so I didn't.

I still don't have bumper plates available. Didn't end up joining that CF gym.

I'll be going back to China soon though, so hopefully I'll find a legit oly lifting school over there.

Already have a date planned with a girl (who works in my usual gym over there) to visit the oly department of the Chengdu Sports University together when I get back. Fingers crossed.

Congrats on PRing all over the place!

Yesterday, a friend of mine let me borrow his weightlifting belt to squat. It was so much easier keeping my torso upright. Thanks for the suggestion! I think it is about time to purchase one for deadlifting and squatting. What kind of belt would you recommend?

I'm probably not the best person to ask as I just get the cheap valeo Velcro belts off Amazon. Whatever you do, try and avoid buying those junky tapered belts they sell at Sports Authority/Dicks. I know most folks itf like Toro and a few others whose names escape me atm.

Are the jump squats new? What's the ROM for them like? I did a google search and I found a video of one guy doing a squat with a normal ROM, but did not jump high; another video was a guy that squatted with 1/2 ROM, but seemed to jump as high as possible.

I was on the fence about doing them because I thought/still think it's fancy play syndrome for someone like me, but I figured why not. Basically, you do a regular squat and then you jump as little as possible just to get airborne while keeping the bar pressed firmly on your back. I'm not sure of their utility, but I guess it can't hurt with explosiveness.

Failed 205 forward the first time and fell on my ass. Clarked the next two. I just learned what clarked means thanks to DFII. I basically clark all snatches where my confidence goes out the window. Whatevs, 195 felt real good. 205 will come soon enough. This Bulgarian cycle has been tough, but has really helped my lifts.

My knees don't usually feel bad, although they do get achy sometimes. I'm guessing your suggestions would be widen my stance and straighten my toes more?
