Fun article & audio track from Brandon Adams on trying to run a 5K while fat (218 lbs, I think he’s ~6’1’’-6’2’’?).

https://brandonadams.substack.com/p/...ssons-learned?

TL;DR:
(1) Running for a mile at that initial BMI is possible. Anything longer (5K) is likely impossible (without walking).
(2) Doing a (10 lb in 1 month) cut while training is hell (physical, mental) after a deficit of ~10K calories.

It's interesting, that's fosho. But don't understand this immediate need for fitness (3 miles in sub20min). He takes a couple of decades getting fat and slow and wants it all back in a couple of months (sounds unbearable).

Says weird shiet too that after-10000 calories, intense exercise becomes too hard and unbearable. Yes bro, -1000+ daily calorie deficit will take its toll (its not magical-10000) with intense activity.

Also thinks bacon, prosciutto, and full fat yogurt is good for satiety. Bro, you can do better. Let's go all lean meats + fruit and veggies. We need maximum bang for the buck.

But good work got it done.
