I did a log before, but failed to update it for a while. So I thought I would restart.

I went through a phase of not lifting earlier this year. I did some kettlebell stuff, but not frequently enough. So I stopped that, and started a linear progression on the major lifts.

All weights in kgs.

Age:43. Weight:85. I will write as sets x reps, although opinion differs on this crucial issue.

My weekend of scuba diving was blown out. So I lifted, but I would have preferred to be underwater at some point. Lifting immediately after diving increase the risk of a bend, so is a bad idea.

Bench
Worked up to 2x3x60. I'm not very good at benching.

Worked up to 3x5x95.

Did 3x4x60, so some progress on Friday's effort.

Deadlift
1x5x126. Felt heavy, but bar speed was OK.

I will try to keep this log updated.

2 weeks ago, I went diving in Cornwall. It was a good weekend. I did two dives on the Sunday; the last one 41 minutes to 31 metres. I picked up a couple of minutes' deco; my buddy picked up 3. We did the stops, then a 3 minute safety stop; then a slow ascent to the surface.

40 minutes after the dive, the world started to spin. I started to vomit. I had picked up a vestibular bend. 6 hours later, I was in the pot for a 7 hour treatment. Then I had a 5 hour treatment, followed by 2 2-hour treatments a day. 5 ays after the incident, I was released.

I did a major reset on my lifting, and I'm aiming to lift 3 times a week. So far, I've succeeded in this.

It's likely I've got a PFO, which will severely restrict my future lifting.

Typo above - the PFO will interfere with diving, not lifting.

Today I did LBBS, up to 3 sets of 5 @ 90k.
Press, 3x5 bar only, as I am trying to learn this.

Lifted yesterday. Work sets were (set x rep x weight in kg):

Squat 3 x 5 x 95
Bench 3 x 3 x 60
Deadlifts 1x 5 x 111.

Did some chin ups as well - 5 sets of 2.

Good luck with your log. You might think abuot posting form vids if you're unsure on your lifts.

^Thanks, I may do for press and bench, since I'm not very good at them. My shoulder mobility isn't brilliant - I have a plate and pins in my left shoulder.

Saturday Lifted. Work set were:
Squat 3x5x100. 2 plates didn't feel bad.
Press 3x5x25.
Deadlift 1x5x121. Surprisingly easy.

Today, I did a short hike - around 5 miles. It was pretty flat - the people I walked with wanted something gentle.

I am crap at logging. I've been lifting reasonably regularly, though.

This week: I did an 18 mile walk on Sunday. It was supposed to be 14 miles, but we got properly lost.

Played with kettlebells on Tuesday

Today I did:
Squat 120kg, 3 sets of 5
Bench 60kg, 3 sets of 5.

Today I did:
Deadlift 1x2x126, 1x3x126, 1x2x126. I meant to do 1 set of 5, but didn't feel right on the first set. So I did the mini sets instead. The second and third sets felt good.

I did a hilly 9 mile walk on Sunday, with a rather fine pub lunch in the middle.

Today I did:
Squat 3x5x115. Hard.
Bench I was aiming to do 65k, but my left arm hurt a lot in the warm up. So I did 3x3x60 instead.

I think the pre-workout ciders may have been a blunder.

I went to Barcelona last weekend, and massively increased the average age at a dance music festival. I did some old man dancing for a few hours.

Yesterday I did:
Bench 3x5x55. Surprisingly hard.
Deadlift 1x5x136. Also felt heavy.

^I am pretty sure no photographic evidence of it exists!

I had a week in the Scilly islands. I was supposed to be diving, but I am still banned from it. I got in quite a few decent walks, the longest being 18 miles or so.

The next week, I threw a kettlebell about a bit a couple of times, but failed to lift.

On Saturday, I did a 20 mile walk in Dorset. I managed to lock a bunch of divers out of their accomodation whilst doing it.

Yesterday, I lifted. It was light, due to the fortnight off.

Today, I played with a kettlebell a bit.

11 July
Lifted some stuff. Did 114k deadlift for many sets if 5, and 40k military press for 3 sets of 5.

15 July
Did 3 sets of 5 sqats at 105k, 3 sets if 5 bench at 55k, and 3 sets of 5 deadlifts at 104k. All felt easy.

16 July
Did 100 swings with a 24k kettlebell in 6 minutes. Sweated a lot, as it's humid and my shed was roasting.

I think there's another kettlebell session I failed to log.

22 July lifted.
3x5 115k squat
3x3 65k bench
Then I had excess energy, so I did a bunch of light (100k) deadlifts.

23 July 11 mile walk. Not very hilly.

I am signed off to dive again! It's depth limited to 15 metres, but better than nothing. I shall go for a pootle tomorrow.

I went diving last weekend. It was cold and dark.

Yesterday, I did some benching and then did an 11 mile hike.

Today, I did some deadlifts and then started pottering around my garden. My lawnmower blew up, and started billowing out thick smoke.

I did a few unlogged workouts. I went diving on 13 may - it is good being underwater again.

Walked a decent distance. It was with my little brother, so we accidentally did loads of hill sprints. (One of us would start to go up the hill slightly quicker than the other, which led to the other accelerating to win, which led to a sprint.)
