watching a lot of movies on work-from-home mode. I think I posted about a movie called Mulholland Drive a few years back. I didn't realize the director, a guy named David Lynch, has a lot of stylistically and thematically similar movies. I watched another one called Lost Highway. It was a solid 25/37.****ing terrifying in a more existential and surrealist way, not in a "horror movie" way. I've only seen these two from him, but they are almost just too dark for me and it's a bit overwhelming. I'm sure 24-26 year old Evoken would have eaten this **** up, but now it's just too much of a downer.

Anyway, if one is looking for something dark, sinister, unique, surreal, and unconventional, his movies seem quite apt.

I used to be pretty into movies. My friend who was even more into movies tried to get me into Lynch and showed me Blue Velvet. Pretty much totally didn't get it. It's supposed to be one of his best films. I haven't seen anything else, not even Twin Peaks.

Yeah I want to watch Blue Velvet tonight, but I'm afraid it's gonna turn me into Emo Ken.

Mulholland Drive was my first non porn lesbian sex scene. I remember nothing else about the movie.

Carry on

It was sooo good man. I watched it 3 times. Interesting non-linear story that explores the very real idea that human memory is flawed and the way we remember things is often not at all how they actually happened. The way we see ourselves is often completely disconnected from how others view us or from objective reality or both (this is why Genova is so fascinating, as he's what happens when this sort of self-preserving delusion is taken to a logical extreme).

But yes, it seems like pert, firm, and relatively large breasts along with gratuitous sex scenes are hallmarks of Mr. Lynch. It's torturous because those were some amazing titties, yet there's no way you're beating off to the movie b/c it's too sad. Maybe this is a meta way of ****ign with the viewers more.

22 year old Soulbro says welcome to the 90s! Loved Lost Highway a lottttt.

Blue Velvet and and Wild at Heart were also good, though I can't remember enough to tell if they have withstood the test of time.

And of course, Twin Peaks is still pretty elite, both the original and the follow-up from last year.

Emo ken,
So sad to hear that China's bootlegging operations are so affected by coronaviruses that they are just now getting into David Lynch. Soulman stole the superior welcome to the 90s joke that is obvious here, but since he is from communist france he thinks all jokes belong to all people. Sad. So so sad. Welcome to the 90s though!

I love a good rom-com but I am sad to write today to let you know that "Say Anything..." did not stand the test of time other than that the white-collar crime dad is pretty hilarious and delivers the lols.
3/37 do not watch
+3 points for the scene where JC yells at Jeremy Piven you must chill

Baker Mayfield

LOLwat

This is why the black man has finally taken over the QB position. Finally racism being overcome by talent, in the NFL it took a while before the QB position finally succumbed. My man Andy Reid always believed, from McNabb to Vick to Mahomes. Congrats. LolTrubisky. Burrows the last white hope.

Do you know there are three Allens as QBs in the NFL? All white, all terrible. Why my man Kaepernick got no job? Sad.

He might be okay one day but he was terrible vs Dwatson4 in the playoffs. That 4th Q was puketastic.

He also had the 24th best QBR in the NFL. LOLwat.

With the aging demise of the big3 (Brady, Brees, Rodgers) it's not looking good for the whiteman. Just a matter of time before they are relegated to only kickers and punters. Maybe JoeB will be the next Luka and there will be hope.

I seem to watch less than 1 hours' television a week at the moment. (90% of the time if I watch something, it's Match Of the Day, a UK football show. Proper football, not the Septic variety.)

So I've cancelled my Netflix subscription and downgraded my cable television package.

The rest of the world will catch up with this approach some day.

Blue Velvet is more of a thriller than surrealist mind****. My personal fav Lynch films are Mulholland Drive and Eraserhead.

Eraserhead confirmed fancy lad/hipster/****ing yuppie choice. Been too long since I saw to remember any details except it was weird as hell.

Soundtrack is a good enough reason to put Lost Highway on top for me. Also strip scene, bwaahafhasdfasjfhwawahawfawfafkjkjasfjk.

So I purchased Berkhan's LeanGains method, his new book. I've always been a fan of the training but mostly passed on the fasting stuff (not enough science hits that it's anything more than calorie restriction).

Basically 90% of the strategy to being ripped is 60% of calories from protein. That TEF will melt you away into ripped abs.

Obviously the guy has done more homework than me and looks great. But I have been ranting about protein ever since my coach put me on 40% protein back in 2012. I was LOLed at and my coach was LOLed at for using percentages.

Berkhan just pulled a 60% calories from protein out of his arse!!! And Aragon is raving about that book. And you guys thought I was crazy. WTF.

But I am glad to be reminded of my crazy ways. This is the first time ever I am having issues losing fat. And low and behold, protein is like 20% of my calories these running days. Back to 40% man.

Is there another Frenchman on this forum that can go check on Soulbro? I fear he may have had a stroke.

Ok, so I read the whole book. He basically admits to IF 16/8 being good for compliance only and not magically burning fat.

So the whole LeanGains method is 50-60% calories from protein (or 4g per kg of bodyweight if you a big boy).

Lol. Has anyone heard of three cans of tuna for breakfast? Well at least I never have to worry about writing a book.

I've heard about sardines...

And 40% protein was the recommendation in the Testosterone Advantage Plan back in '01 or watev.

I'd have to find my TAP but I thought 40/30/30 was the normal go-to.
