I've never been able to get a pair of those even close to good fit. My issue with Levi's, and the like, is the rise, as opposed to the waist position. It seems like they think everyone needs two feet of material from their ballsack to under their belly button. Weird.
I got the 569's (the one with the below the waist, straight leg, roomier seat, 18.5" leg openings) and the 541's (waist where you'd normally expect it to be, taper leg, fairly normal seat, 14.5" leg openings which is more than usual). $50 each and they are both supposed to be their athletic (as opposed to regular fat guy) jeans. Some colors are 4-way stretch and some 100% cotton, and my 569's are a significantly lighter weight material but I'm not sure if that's true for all versions as I can't see it listed anywhere.
I usually just get the $20 stretch jeans from Target or Walmart (Wrangler or Denizen) and replace every year or two or when my waist size changes by a couple inches. I got my Adidas lifting shoes on Amazon Wardrobe for the 8 day tryout and you have to get 4 or 5 things per shipment, for some reason, so figured I'd take a chance. I actually am not certain I have ever worn a pair of Levi's before. After a couple wears I prefer the 541's but out of the box I liked the 569's better (if a little unsettled by the waist thing). They were a good fit but have become a bit loose. The 541's felt a little too tight but are now fine, if even slightly loose, despite what must be some significant rapid weight gain (ain't measuring but am coping with pie and cookies again). Also a little annoying since I did take measurements per their chart to pick the size.
Yesterday spent all day in the hospital for wife's trial initiation appointment running between testing departments and consultations. Was the first time in 5 or 6 years (since I realized I needed all "technical" clothes for the "all hell breaking loose" sequences) that I wanted to set a pair of pants on fire other than ones worn by enemies.
