OK I'll give it a shot. Maybe I'll work up to a heavy double or something and then do this as my main work.
I'm pretty sure I can't do it. My breathing patterns for high rep sets are terrible. I'm way out of breath before my legs are close to failing.

Short term goal is to just drop 20lbs and preserve as much strength as possible. Will reassess when I get there.

Personally I’d just drop my 5s weight by a few and do 3 x 3 just because it made the cut and adding cardio easier without making me much weaker and I didn’t care what I looked like so much as general and heart health. Just an anecdote.
This is probably what I would have done if left to my own devices.

You're right about the no heart. When it comes to lifting, especially, I've got almost none. I'll take any excuse to not lift. Barbell squats on a bad knee requires way more heart than I've got. I probably took off about 2 more weeks than I really needed.
I do log in a notebook with a pencil and paper as I lift. I'm too lazy to transcribe it over here. It probably would be beneficial, though.
I know, if it's not here it doesn't count.

Melkerson needs to log and have consitency for a few years.
You're not wrong, but I don't have enough WIM for that. At least not yet. I project that in about 5-8 years, my kids will get to the point where they want to spend as little time with me as possible, and I'll more easily find the time. These days, with few exceptions, the only times I exercise are when they're asleep. So I've got to get up really early or train late. And like I said, I just don't have the WIM to do a lot of that.

I wasn't worried. Just curious.
