Those look damn delicious. Did you modify that grill grate to have a cross-hatch pattern on half of it?
12-03-2012 , 12:13 PM
Those do look tasty -- it's warm as hell here, too. Apparently Al Gore was right.

Maybe your quality point is true now, but when Le Bec Fin was all that I went a number of times and enjoyed it quite a bit, in addition to the different restaurants that some of the chefs from there opened in my parents' neck of the woods.

I'm not disputing the quality of the place, more the fact that I find the presentation of that particular dish to be a little too self-masturbatory for me. Hugs?

It's unusually cold here though, so it's all balanced out. Al Gore was only right about the tubes and manbearpig.

The steak is win.

Reading a little, I can assure you that this does nothing for me:
Quote:
1) Macintosh Apple Cider
2) Butternut Muscovado, finger lime, West Indies
3) Oyster leaf mignonette
4) Sea Urchin with white chocolate, yuzu, wasabi (top 3)
5) Lobster - trinity, sherry, chervil
6) Top Neck Clam - shiso, soy, daikon
7) Otoro - Thai Banan, sea salt, kaffir lime
8) Corn - huitlacoche, sour cherry, silk
9) Arctic Char - sage, bourbon, upland crest
10) Hot Potato - cold potato, black truffle (top 3)
11) Matsutake mushroom with pork belly, huckleberry, pine
12) Black Truffle explosion - romaine, parmesan (top 3)
13) 3 styles lamb (shoulder, belly, sirloin) with 50 different condiments
14) Woodcock tempura - lingonberry, shallot, oak leaves
15) giner - five other flavors
16) carrot - coconut, white sesame, caramelized honey
17) balloon - helium, green apple
18) Dark chocolate - rye, birch syrup

No, it just so happened the grill underneath that holds the coals is perpendicular.

No, please die!

Anyway, of course it's pretentious. It's a place where you pay >>$500 to get ****ing dinner.

G4S, don't you effectively live in Indiana, too?
12-03-2012 , 12:32 PM
Yup, just like you. Although you're a little closer to Indiana than I am
12-03-2012 , 12:39 PM
^Proof that strength makes you untrollable.

I have to cross a giant bridge to get to Indiana. I'm trying to develop gephyrophobia.

Unfortunately due to 1) the Horseshoe Hammond and 2) Three Floyd's Beer, I will undoubtedly be back to your state soon.
12-03-2012 , 12:44 PM
I can relate, having to drive there really makes my dystychiphobia act up.

Midwest bros unite imo.

Get a giant room already

I thought that is maybe where you worked. I don't really go there too frequently. I don't think I've been since July, but I will definitely say hi if I am back there anytime soon.

I agree with you 98% of indiana confirmed WSOAT.
12-03-2012 , 01:05 PM
It was 75 when I woke up today, high of like 82. It's pretty weird.

Former midwest, former lived < 10 miles from Indiana bro checking in...

Used to rive up from Nashville to play at that Horseshoe. Ran insanely hot at the "splash pot" promotion they ran on Wednesdays.
12-03-2012 , 01:19 PM
I think you're thinking of Southern indiana. We're up near the northwest part of the state.
12-03-2012 , 01:21 PM
Yeah. It was the Horseshoe across from Louisville whatever the hell it's called
12-03-2012 , 01:29 PM
I think that one's Horseshoe Middle of the Cornfields

The Arctic Char sounds pretty good to me too.
12-03-2012 , 01:35 PM
G4S you would have absolutely hated it.

Now 2 hours to 12 hours from the Horseshoe, all depending on Chicago Edens + Dan Ryan traffic.
