I finally saw him a couple years ago at a funeral.

Shane: Really?
Jeff: **** Apple. I'm at Adobe now.

He basically knew going in that everyone was underpaid and could be shown the door at any time since there's a steady supply of young Jeffs more than willing to take his place at below-market pay. Otherwise, he didn't think much of the operation.

I never roll it and I know I should do that (and I will), but I'm wondering if anyone has any other suggestions/thoughts on the matter. A couple people suggested elbows down, but I don't think my elbows are up enough. There's a very recent vid of my squat in my log, but I honestly don't think you'll get much from it.

Somewhat related to that previous question - I've considered dabbling in the arts of HBBS. But I just can't seem to find a good place to put the bar without it hurting. I'm not putting it on bone - it's hurting the muscles. Has anyone found that it took a few sessions to get used to, or am I not finding the right spot?

Thanks x2.
Pain in that spot is often caused by adhesions in other areas that you wouldnt think would cause pain there. The infraspinatus looks like a likely culprit:

Google "infraspinatus trigger points" for more info.

hbbs - keep trying different spots imo.

pic works. Probably a browser fail. What is your browser?

Right click the little area showing you the pic isn't working, open in new tab.

Cha - TY, I forgot about your infraspinatus advice last time actually. I have the trigger point workbook so I'll check for trigger points there as well. Thanks again.

Regarding the HBBS bar position and trap pain, I can say with full confidence that you're just being a pussy. You will get used to it.

Awesome, thanks for response. Most desired answer actually. I have no problem getting used to it, just didn't know if there was some magically awesome spot like there is with LBBS

Yeah I think you'll be fine in a few workouts.

What I never was able to get used to was the ****ty feeling in a HBBS when you fail to keep your chest up. Feels like you're using your neck to support the whole weight for the second half of the ROM.

saw - check out the SMR forum guide too - NOOB!

glad you & mom are ok.
Yeah, I grew up in a rural area, so snakes (mostly these, these and these. Apparently these are everywhere too, but I've never seen one... although they have a reputation for being non-aggressive, so you would basically never see it unless you stepped on it) and spiders (mostly just these) were super common. Also, Australia doesn't get much of a mention for scorpions, but we have a lot of them too.

I've never been bitten/stung/attacked by anything tho... oh, unless you count these muthafukkas.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portuguese_man_o'_war

...but you basically can't come to Australia and not get stung by one of them.

Funnily enough my mum sent me a pic just this morning. 'tis the season.

Spoiler:

It's one of these: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eastern_brown_snake

Super common down the east coast of Australia. Not the most deadly in terms of toxicity, but probably the most dangerous due to their tendency to set up shop close to people (they love sheds or like piles of wood and stuff) and being very aggressive.

That's the 2nd one she's killed in the last couple of months.

Bigger traps = more pressure on neck when having ****ty form and good morninging a HBBS.

And I have ******edly big traps for someone who doesn't even lift anymore.

There was a scary nickel-sized spider outside my window. I emailed the landlord and it's not there anymore.

So I know what it's like.

You did the right thing, bro.

I suspect most here could.

Oh, and a former cop without a gun? Do the police not carry guns down there?
12-19-2012 , 07:14 PM
And my USA#1 brain watched that the whole time wondering who was driving the other vehicle while the passenger was jumping out to attack, lol.

Pretty much everybody. I did it last christmas and I didn't even lift then.
12-19-2012 , 07:15 PM
Cops have guns. Civilians don't.

Mrs Snitch still regularly goes to the wrong side of the car. I lol.
12-19-2012 , 07:16 PM
Probably.

But it said he's a former cop. Not sure I know anyone who once was a cop that doesn't carry a gun to this day.

No, I actually shattered the windshield of my own car with one punch. From the inside if it matters.
