Anyone else have experience just C+J, Snatch, and Skwatting and not having their chest become concave? Should I at least do some weight dips or something?
I plan on going back to weightlifting at some point and benching 1x/week to stay more well rounded. I don't really see a point in eliminating it unless you have an injury or aspirations for high level wl.

My chest was smaller, but not concave when I just did wl and no benching. (I still did a relatively lot of pushups.) If you really didn't want to bench, I would just not worry about it your chest would be fine. Maybe add dips/pushups.

I don't do it because benching only once a week leaves me sore, which really ****s up my snatch for the next couple of days (heeeyyy-o). I don't have a whole ton of time at the gym so doing it more often than that basically detracts from other useful exercises, like squats.

If I had it to do again: I would get a vitamix in a heart beat (or as long as it takes to come up with $500).

Fredd - you can use it to make soups as well as smoothies, and in the summer iced alcoholic beverages with little umbrellas.

Our ninja works relatively well, though. I like it. I also like the chunks it leaves in our drinks.

I would probably get the kitchen aide one though. However, when I was reading reviews at various websites, the kitchen aide one comes with a canister that is prone to cracking. This was supposedly just the old model and they switched to just one piece and that fixed the problem, but I saw some reviews from people saying it happened again. Usually after one year of use.

Got a kitchenaid. The canister leaks at the bottom, in miniscule amounts. Just means you have to wash under as well as in. Vitamix lasts forever so it'll never be a bad purchase, however it should be noted that a thermomix will likely be the new must have vitamix replacer once its price drops.

Wait it costs $500 for a Vitamix blender? What is so special about it again?

I use it for sauces, purées, smoothies, soups, etc. it will handle ice no problem and it will boil your soup in a matter of minutes.

Wow. Confirmed. My stomach has been exploding out both ends now for the better part of 8 hours now. This is the worst ever ever ever

I didn't bench for about 10 years.

It was fine.

I did press a lot though.

JF quick cut imo

If it looks and smells/tastes funky, don't it bro. Get well :/

ETA: don't eat it bro. It's the weirdest thing, I just randomly drop words from sentences. Happens in Browegian too.

Time for litigation against Chobani, obv.

Is it better at just blending fruits and veggies for smoothies than an ordinary $50 blender? I don't really need it to heat/boil anything.

You can get Jamba Juice type of consistency with a vitamix. I've never been able to get that with a std blender, which always leaves pieces of frozen banana chunk, ice chunks, identifiable vegetable matter, etc.

Only the 7th, and one goal already met!

I do NOT have thyroid cancer!

Spoiler:
I do, however, have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis (a treatable but incurable auto-immune disease). My immune system is basically eating my thyroid, which still functions but will be less and less effective over time. As long as I take synthroid and get periodic blood tests to adjust my dosage, I should be good to go. Beats the hell out of thyroid cancer, that's for sure.

Congratulations! Sort of, but at least it's curable!

Congrats on a diagnosis bigpappa. Back to an elimination diet imo. I know it was shot down before, but new information and all that.

Even the wiki page says it responds a gluten free diet. Can't hurt, might help.

Vitamix is definitely worth the cost
My parents' machine has been going strong for 20 years.
We finally purchased one this year and use it for all the things Crash mentioned.
We also received a KitchenAid as a wedding gift and there is a discernible difference.

Srsly tho, nice! Take that cancer!

Thanks everyone.

First doctor looking at ultrasound thought she saw a "growth" so I started to get a little scared. She called in the older more experienced doctor who said Hashimoto's just looks like that. Since it doesn't attack the thyroid symmetrically, you end up with a very asymmetrical beat-to-**** looking thyroid. He thought it such a perfect example of Hashimoto's he kept showing it to the younger doctors and calling it "beautiful".
