Does anyone in Vegas/Henderson have a copy of SS that they don't want/need anymore?

All work sets are the same weight. Get the book. Start a log.
The exception to that rule is if you did too much weight and need to back off.

Ok thanks. And I have read the SS faq but it's all a bit much to take in and I'm not sure it answered my question specifically anywhere (though I know it was at least implied in the example workouts)

Then be happy with your current squat.

Something is wrong. Is it recovery? Cut volume. If not, try adding a set. It's all covered in PPST. And obviously make sure to sleep, eat and recover properly. Try structuring your eating more e.g.

Two questions:

1: How is my lower back in my latest deadlift video? It was bad previously.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vB4QwCFSF44

2: This may be obvious/dumb, but can you apply the texas method to just squats, and leave the other lifts on the normal SS progression? Or does it mess up the volume/intensity mojo?

Yes. It works fine, no problemo.

For SS, how bad is it to do cardio during off days?

To re-phrase slightly- Say I'm committed to doing some cardio, is it best to to it pre-lifting, post-lifting, or on my off days?

Is it good or bad to have a little free-fall moment at the very bottom of your squat descent? I mean over a very very short ROM, although it feels longer at the time.

Versus being in control of your descent the entire time.

I'm noob supreme but I'd think you'd want to be in control the whole time.

I think post workout is better. More complete rest days and you should be restored by the next SS workout.

Back squats are better but fronts are good too.

To maximise the stretch reflex it should kind of feel like a free fall, sort of. But it is in control....

So I convinced my wife to try SS. She's going to the local large gym with a friend who has a membership, and it turns out that they even have classes involving barbells:

Quote:
Select BSC and WSC locations are partnering with Les Mills to offer exhilarating workouts that are changing lives around the world.
BODYPUMP™
BODYPUMP™ is the original barbell class that strengthens your entire body. This workout challenges all your major muscle groups by using the best weight-room exercises like squats, presses, lifts and curls. Great music, awesome instructors and your choice of weight inspire you to get the results you came for – and fast!
She's read enough of SS that she's appropriately skeptical too:

Quote:
I think I'll go to this class tonight. It should give me an opportunity to learn the right form (assuming the instructor is good). If it doesn't seem good, then (friend) and I can just do our own workout.
Anyone know anything about these classes?

Ultimate noob here when it comes to weight lifting. I just got all the stuff to start SS (I think) and can't wait to get started. However I have a few questions for you guys.

I'd like to know if I need anything else besides what I just purchased, which is:

Nautilus Power Rack
2 45 lb Olympic bars
Set of Olympic Weights (Also with 2.5 and 5 lb weights)
Bench
Rubber Floor Mats
Weight Tree
Video Camera on it's way from FTP
SS Book

Also I am very weak, would it be terrible to focus on Squat, Bench and DL only for the first month or so, or should I just stick to the program as it is?

I've never lifted before, have always just ran a lot doing soccer and long distance running in track. I stopped doing that and just sit at a poker table pretty much all day and eat poorly and drink entirely too much beer. Which lead to my gut and lack of muscle. I'm 6' 205 lbs.

Any suggestions welcome and thanks in advance.
