Bad advice imo. PC is a technical movement. You should warm up with lower weights and concentrate hard on technique. Your muscles being warmed up isn't the only consideration. Otherwise you could just run around and jump for a bit and go straight into your squat work sets.
That said starting at 135lbs for the warm up for DL's seems very standard to me. It won't even be half of your max after just a couple of weeks.
