Why do I eat 4 pounds of meat the day after I deadlift? Is this normal to eat so much more after deadlift days.

Yeah, marinas will be your best bet. We build batting cages out of the netting from West Marine here in Seattle. They have everything when it comes to netting and ropes.

Empiremaker,

Yes.

You're just getting in touch with your inner beast. After I deadlift all I wanna do is slaughter a gazelle and eat it raw, then take a nap in the sun, followed by a quickie.

Kyle,

One of the cues I've heard Rip mention for the PC when the weight is way too far out in front is to "aim for your shirt". Give it a try.

I got back on the EC Stack after about 3 weeks off and I've been hungry as a mother****er today, wtf?
10-13-2009 , 05:51 PM
About a week ago, I did way heavy deadlifts and my form went to **** on the last one. It hurt my back, still have pain in the lower right section of my back a decent distance away from my spine.

Cause for concern?

Yeah. Don't DL with crappy form.

You should be fine. Probably a muscle strain. Take it easy.

Hmm a trainer said I wasn't being safe today on my last rep on OHP. He said instead of struggling to press it up I should get into the squat position and then press it up. Pretty sure struggling on one rep a set would be better than his method right?
10-13-2009 , 06:01 PM
Depends on what "struggling" entailed.
10-13-2009 , 06:07 PM
OHP struggles look so exaggerated b/c you body starts convulsing when you start lifting heavy **** above your head.

he basically said to you that you should do a different exercise? lol wut.
push press =/= strict press

If struggling meant excessive extension of the lumbar spine and complete breakdown of lateral stability, then sure doing a push press is preferable.

Ahahhaha this x a billionty.

I look like the biggest tardburger when I'm failing on a press... Doesn't help that I'm a stubborn mofo when it comes to lifting...

em2,

is he saying to squat for the entirety of the press, or just push press? sounds like the first one, and that would be awesome.
10-13-2009 , 07:53 PM
That would be pretty sick.

this is the oyster menu at aquagrill today (my favorite oyster place in ny). http://img376.imageshack.us/img376/6572/photo22m.jpg look at those choices. they were so delicious.

i want to try oysters from palces like europe and australia. but i read somewhere that the US doesn't have oyster trade agreements with them i think, so we never get them here.

ATTENTION NOOBS

"STARTING STRENGTH" IS BOTH A PROGRAM AND A BOOK. THE PROGRAM IS DETAILED INSIDE THE BOOK WITH THE SAME NAME. WEIRD ISN'T IT

ADDITIONALLY, QUESTIONS OR STATEMENTS LIKE

-hurrr durr is starting strength a huge fail if i don't squat
-so i do SS five times a week
-i do an SS like program but sub bicep curls for deadlifts and twinkies for squats

IS RIDICULOUS FOR REASONS THAT ARE OBVIOUS TO EVERYONE WITH A BRAIN AND YOU WILL BE LAUGHED AT

READ THE ****ING BOOK HYACAYCAHCYACHA

people actually mention it isn't a good choice because it really isn't very caloric dense. someone mentions sierra nevada bigfoot, which is clearly a better beer for the cause. barley wine in general is a great way to gain weight and get obliterated.
