After a weekend off semi-debauchery and laziness I was expecting a slow start to the week. I was pleased that I hit 2x5@315 on squat 3 sets at 225 on bench(working back after injury) and 5x335 on dl after a bunch of accessory work.
Weighed this am. I suppose goal achieved. New goal; 175.
The last two nights I've been up late after too much caffeine and instead of doing an hour walk like usual I started some interval running. First day I had a little knee pain, but it was gone in the morning. Last night, the back of my legs by my achilles was just dead. Today I have aches like when I was just starting to squat heavy, joint pain, hips and knees. Nothing horrible but I definately was unable to do my squats today as a result.

I havent cleaned in forever. Just had a little left in the tank and decided to try again. I was cleaning 190/195 @ 200, so I thought 165 would be ez. I failed the first 2x reps. I think I will get back into the clean. It is a dirty whore, but I still love it.
Think I need an intermediate program, can I do one while eating at deficit?
PPAN was suggested, and I see people doing 5/3/1.
Not sure which would be better considering my goals of maintaining while dropping another 5 lbs.
If anyone has been following my progress(or lack thereof) in this log, and has an insight into where I should set my worksets/recovery/intensity at, I would very much appreciate the input.
The GHR and the Chinups really were tough. Needed close to 5 minutes between chinup sets. Did the squats, presses, GHR with appx, 1 minute between sets.
Dl is not easy for me. I've been trying to get my chest up and ass down. Pull it off the floor, but I can feel my form fall apart getting it off the floor. Need to vid. Cold be just a tough week with little recovery and not enough food.
Went up ten and decided fk it, lets do this volume day right. Exhausting, but not really close to fail.

Its 30 minutes post workout and I'm feeling the squats, some joint soreness. Pretty big jumps today but about the same level of exhaustion as last week.
Its still only been one full week, but so far I love it. I have been doing maintenance SS workouts for like 3 months so I was overdue for a change. I think the real test of how much I like it comes when my volume day is close to stall, and intensity day become pr's.
I also squatted barefoot for 4 sets today. That was something new. I liked that a lot. Still havent gotten any legit shoes, been chucks since jan. when I started. Out of town this week, in Milwaukee, and had on my nikes so instead of enduring I took them off. Better than chucks I think.(obv?)
Barely felt like a workout. Exept for the chins. Tried to do them with less rest inbetween. Im not happy with failing 3x12, prob take some more time and try and get all 3 next week.
Thanks HalfSlant. I think I'm where I need to be on volume day. Intensity is going to make me angry when I stall after 3 weeks though. 5x320 I think I think is doable, but 5x325 would be a pr, one I'd be very happy with. I have no idea how much strength 3 volume days, and 2 intesity days will add to my squat but 325 would be huge.
I've never gone higher than 320 fwiw, even for a 1rm. Actually, I've never tried a 1rm.
I though intensity day was 5x 320 instead of 5x1x320 same with dl.

I didn't vid my dl(s) today, kinda lame. I also did 5 singles. So it's not singles? My original understanding was 1x5 for dl and squat. I had a brain fart somewhere and thought it was singles. The squat made my brain not work apparently. I was trying for 5x320.
Apparently I can't spell intensity either. Gonna give myself a break since I drove 1200 miles the last couple days.
I was stayin with family in tosa. Lifted at bally's in West Allis. Played at poto, not much other than that. Had to leave after 2 nights to drive back to vegas. Stopped in Denver to see my sister. Rode her gsxr 600. Fun.
