Sorry I missed why you are doing so many squat reps.

Why?

Is it a sort of intermediate volume thing?

Laziness.

I have weights but no rack at home, and 165 is the most I can press and get onto my shoulders.

6/19

squat

4x320
3x320
3x315

I felt like I had a full 2x5 in me but I did not get there. last set was just for kicks

press

5x135

waiting for bench

pc

3x135
3x155
3x175
2x195

waiting for bench I got my clean on for the first time in forever. Again felt like I had more, like my strength wasn't what was holding me back from the last rep.

bench

10x135
10x185
5x225
5x245

messin around again

dl

5x225
3x345

Please comment on my dl, this was my first legit weight dl in a while. Flame away.

I am having some thoughts about working more cardio into my routine. Thinking it might actually help my lifts, but I'm not sure why.

The light in the background is a little confusing but it looks like you've got some serious lumbar rounding going on. Also, is the bar against your shins in the first part of the lift?

The light does f it up, sorry. I think i actually used my pc stance instead. So no, it wasn't. I tend to go from good/decent form to horribad. This was the latter. My ass was too high for sure, bar too far forward and who knows what else. Dl has been my worst lift since I started.

squat

3x320
3x315

bench

3x5x250

So, I weighed in at 190, with clothes, shoes, and phone post workout.

Came into today still sore from saturday. Had a pretty dissapointing squat, probably dues to hiking 5 miles earlier in the day and only taking in appx 1200 cals before the workout. I did go back up to 250 on bench though, and I'm very happy about that.

If the squats look like 3/4 squats, trust me they aren't. I was aware I was being filmed(obv) and know how deep is parallel and I was there. So please save the comments on depth unless you really think im wrong then go for it.

Side note, I'm surprised how easy these look compared to how hard they are, strange.

Comments appreciated!

squat stance appears to be particularly narrow.
Not an SS LOG; Lots of Excuses Quote

yeah. stance should be like 3x wider. and why don't you just film from about knee height so there's no question about depth?

I'll do that, with some shorts that dont cover my knees..

I did bring my stance in quite a bit maybe a month or so, and it is narrow, will widen.

squat

5x315
3x315

press

2x5x155

I really rage at the press. My shoulders are kinda lopsided on the reps I struggle. Will take a vid I guess.

Dl

5x225

reset to 2/3

have a vid of the 5x315 I'll get posted eventually

315x5

better view than the 320

does the "trust me they're parallel" still apply? because those aren't parallel and it's pretty clear.

I think I can do 315x5 at that depth, tbh

Bahaha. I guess I'm gonna need to squat naked with 4-5 different zoom in xray camera lenses to convince people that I reach parallel.

LOL @ JonFon

I guess my idea of parallel could be off. I was under the assumption that if the bone in my leg is even with the floor that was parallel.

depth is fine.

they're either ignorant or disingenuous when they make those statements; 315 for reps at that depth is respectable.

i see why you think you need an x-ray.

hip crease must be at or lower than top of knee. very simple and easily identifiable if you would film at knee height.

and read the book; no excuses.

This was the lowest spot on your rep I could find to take a screen shot:

Vs mine:

It's a little too deep but I'm always trying to improve my form.

You shouldn't be complacent with your form, esp after miles says it needs to be deeper.

Edit: Here is better example: Miles hitting good depth at 405x5

It's close but not close enough to be confused with parallel. Just go a bit lower.

So, my stance has widened significantly, and I'm hopefully achieving proper depth. Looking forward to progressing with these changes.

the safety arms on that squat rack aren't doing you any favors. the depth is better, but it seems that on the reps where you are slightly below parallel, the bar is bouncing. no fault of your own, but it sucks to have to worry about clanging the bar if you get past parallel.

Watched on my phone but those are def parallel.

Yeh, actually noticed in the older vids that if you went to parallel the bar would basically be hitting the safety bars.
