My last 3 spots on bench have all been by 250-350lb black dudes who seem to have been surprised by me getting 250 for 5 reps. 2/3 gave me props on doing it. Also my squat is going up while cutting. awesome. So apparently the program worked for me as I'm down almost 15 lbs and my worksets are holding.
I've got some kind of theory about lifts going up while cutting. It's basically:
You are probably stronger than you thought and are actually just increasing weight and lifting weight closer to your genetic potential, and if you are new enough to lifting you are still teaching your CNS how to do enough stuff that you can increase your weights simply as your body learns.
F it better be something like that because my squats have gone way down since cutting.
Good job though I wish that when I had dropped 15 pounds and was still squatting 315
it's funny after the post that says i might try 320 later. but i understand not wanting to squat. also, 10 rep sets ftl.
The home workout with no rack isn't something Im happy about. I sold my car a little while ago and havent found what I'm looking for yet.(gti) Have been going with my roommate but hes bitching out on me. I havent lost the love for the squat. Surprisingly.
this workout was pretty exhausting. Broke into sweat after first set. Missing the gym but this isn't too bad. Looking forward to seeing what my 2x 5rm looks like after a week of high rep squats.
I was very pleased that I got 150 on the press without much problem. I have been doing more reps at lower weights and 150 was a problem a month or so ago when I was maybe 5-10 lbs heavier so I'm doing something right..
