Failed my first attempt at 385 after standing at the bar for 5 minutes. Put on some heavy **** and surprised myself with 2 reps. Hardest part was breaking the floor. Got a little sloppy on my last set of 10. Some bounce reps and I'm sure poor form. :/
Rows
20x65,70,75,80,85pr, 2 of the sets I only hit 18 with my left arm
Also I'm curious if hitting my 10rm max is a mistake on the 5x10 sets. I've been working up all my lifts to basically max out my 10rm sets, I feel pretty beastly after but I'm not really sure if this is the best idea though.
JFon, yeah buday, missed you last year lets not let that happen again.
I broke 415 3/4' off the ground on both attempts but my ass was too high and my back was doing all the work so I failed. These were belted attempts, I dunno what was up, maybe I was still cold coming in, or my form is still garbage, but I know that I can hit 405, and 415 if I fix whatever the problem is, the strength is there. I'm sure I could sumo it but w/e.
355 felt so heavy I had to laugh after only hitting three thinking I was gonna hit 5+
Changed the tunes and came back like 2 minutes later and hit 4 to redeem myself.
Belted up for my 5x10 and went to town. 275x10 was easy. Seems strange that I can hammer out 275x10 ez after 50 reps.
Does anyone have any input on me going > than 60% on my 10r sets? I feel like its a waste to not push them to max but I could be wrong.
This was not hard. If I was doing sets of 30+ it would have been much more exhausting. Just trying something different. 1000 pushup prop bet anyone?

Holy electrical Jesus I was happy when this was over. Laying on the ground between sets, some real grinders in there. Realized Wendler said to triangle down, not up, so I fixed that.
I'm starting the think I might try to put on some weight this fall/winter. I'm happy to be able to fit my jeans and be quick on my feet but I'm getting old and I'd like to break pr's before it gets too tough. I was talking with my gym buddy and I was all yea I used to be big bla bla and hes like how big I'm like 210 and he laughs and says that's not big. I'd like to see what 225+ feels like. I mean ive been bustin my ass to get strong and I'm still pretty weak for how hard I've been working. /rant
Another consideration that you should take into account is your relationship status and mate preference. If you are a single guy and have a thing for small Asian women, you are probably much better off at 185 or under. But if you are into meaty white blond girls with softball player bodies your target zone should be 200 and up.
If you are married and your wife has popped out a couple kids and doesn't seem like she is gonna be losing her own weight anytime soon then you are ok to pull a Zack and double GOMAD a day.
255 actually wasn't my strongest, that was a bunch of fat. Around 235 (20 y/o, in college and a bro) I was benching 3 plates and pulling 4 plates (super easy, if I'd known anything about form I could've done 5 plates at that weight). Obv didn't squat.
If I were to go for 220+ I would probably not try to get too obese. Maintain a comfortable level of sexy. Put on some quick weight get over 200 then slowly add another 15 or so. No double gomad for me.
If I'm pulling 4 plates @185 what weight would I hit 5 with aggressive training?
