Squats look decent, but your knees never stop sliding forward. Review the book, the section about the terribly useful block of wood. Had the same prob, fixed it by using Rip's suggestion to break at knees for first 1/3 of descent, then no knee movement for rest of descent/ascent.

Would suggest filming in line with one leg from behind as well, so we can see knee caving/foot positioning.

Press: elbows wayyyyyy more forward, the press can't be done properly with that positioning. Bar way too far from body. Better to film from a front view for the press, on your 10-11 o'clock.

bench
3x5x210 PR

ass came off the bench on the last rep of the second and third set. oh well, I'm moving on anyway

deads
1x5x270 PR

Decided to +20 today. I've done 270 x5 once before but my form was an atrocity, so I'm calling this a PR. still not great but def vastly improved. PWO meal = 3 mcdoubles, large fries, half gallon choco milk. play like a champion every day

I think I'd almost be annoyed by your lack of caring/progress/listening to advice dating back to the beginning of this log and even earlier.

But I like your avatar.

I hear you guys, and I promise I'm not trolling. I don't think my form is quite as atrocious as you guys do. Lots of upper back rounding but I think my lower back looks okay. My back is curved, whatever. And it's hard to want to reset when I'm gaining weight and getting stronger.

some morons you just have to let injure themselves, I guess :O

I'm close to a reset on squat/bench/press, and I'll be able to focus more on fixing form stuff once I reset those lifts. with the deads though I've reset them so many fk times already that I feel like I need to just plow through until my form gets better or my back snaps like a toothpick. adding 20 lbs was dumb obviously. I might do 270 again next time, I don't know. eagerly awaiting AJ's RDL video :O

tweaked my left shoulder on my first set and had to give it up. a sign from the gods to reset my press, I guess. Will probably go down to 110, I dunno.

pc:
1x2x148
1x1x148
shoulder was bugging me, and failed a rep for the first time ever. bleh

pretty big bucket of fail today. I've been eating like **** all weekend so I guess I shouldn't be too surprised. squats felt decent though so I'll be going up on those next time

I want to video my bench set tonight, but I also need a spotter. I'm not sure I'm up to explaining to some bro what I'm doing. So there will either be no video, or a video that will likely show me dropping the bar on my head. I haven't decided if I'm going to DL 270 again or try 280. 270 if I'm feeling sensible, 280 if I want to explode my back

lets just get one thing straight here, these are PERSONAL RECORD MAX EFFORT lifts, so I don't want to read any of you nits nitting up my form. j/k do your worst ^_^

squat PR
3x5x270

getting pretty god damn heavy

my knees just can't stop won't stop

Spoiler:

bench PR
3x5x215

puke. rom is fine but bar is all over the damn place. did first two sets w/out spotter and then got a spotter for my last set. I had seen this guy do a really nice 1x2x345 earlier today so I figured he'd know what he was doing but he got his hands all over the bar as soon as it started to slow down on the third set. whatevs ya'll

deads PR
1x5x280

mehhhh. some rounding, could be better could be worse. got a ****ty set up before the last rep and my left hand grip failed as I was locking out the last rep, which I guess means I should attempt a mixed grip next time.

Knees never step going forward on the squat. Impossible to tell due to angle, but I'd wager you don't shove knees out enough either. Looks sort of leg pressy but you have a long torso/short legs right?

I think you might need to take an ego hit and drop down some on the DL, doesn't look like you're strong enough to stay in extension. Especially in your upper back.

it's not an ego issue, it's that I spent ~6 months deadlifting the same weight. onward and upward. Probably do need to shove my knees out more

squat PR

my stance had been creeping in a bit over the last month or two, so I bumped it back out and really focused on knees out and I think it helped a bit with the knee slide. I taped all three sets today b/c I thought I might fail, but alas today was not that day.

press reset
3x5x115
I'm hoping to use this reset to get my form tight. I think these look alright, but I'm sure still tons of room for improvement

I know they are PRs and you don't want any negative feedback because your form is bound to deteriorate but I thought I'd just give one suggestion for bench which is most likely affecting your regular, non-PR lifts:

It seems like you don't have much upper back tension and you can see it from the moment you unrack the weight. I find that trying to pull the bar apart with my hands helps with the tension issue, and getting a spotter to help unrack, or putting the pegs higher so you can "pull" the bar off rather then lift it off helps maintain it while unracking.

Just my .02

Nice cat!

btw the PR thing was a joke, I welcome all feedback

you're absolutely right about the tightness on the bench, I need to start asking for spotters every time

current plan is to apache attack and go really hard until I stall on squats/bench which shouldn't be long. then I've got to decide if I want to get un-fat or switch to intermediate programming
