So I realized I need to work before I go to the gym. On days off, I’ll get up, eat, chill for like 4 hours then go and feel sluggish for some reason. After work is when I feel tired but for some reason lift better. Weird.

Yesterday feel good. Went after I closed the store.

So pain still when I start benching, but goes away during the lifts. Now it’s pain again after. Something is wrong, but if you lifting 185 for reps, pretty sure I’m fine. Ain’t no way i tore anything.

Lockout looking sus, but I only do that to save energy. I think I said this before.

THE LUNCH PAIL DAYS ARE OVER

KRUNIC, HOW have you been my man? yup, hard hat/lunch pail days are long gone. hilarious there are UNIONS being started for Starbuck's. That's how pathetic the times are right now. it's like cancel culture, but with jobs. i tell you, some of these workers don't even deserve $15/hr. the other day i had to tell this girl 3 TIMES TO SET UP THE FOOD CASE. i had washed all the food stands that go into the case because we had a deep clean the other night. the least should could do was to set it back up, but no. TOOK her literally an hour to set it up because she couldn't follow directions.

not dead. just haven't been logging. but still lifting and logging in my phone.

injuries have become a common problem lately. 2 weeks ago i went to the bears game. my first tailgate experience. we had a football and we tossed that around with other tailgaters for a good 30-45 minutes. was told by numerous people i threw a good ball. of course i do, i was an athletic freak back in the day. anyways, the next morning i wake up and my throwing shoulder felt like it was going to fall off. the pain went away after 7-10 days.

then a week ago im benching. given my terrible RPE estimates, i went @10 on my last drop set to see if my estimates are correct. i haven't gone @10 in forever. weight got heavy on the last rep, and i arched the hell out of my back and been in pain ever since. never again.

is still managed not to miss a lifting day. today felt great. still SBD. will be on Mike T's program come the new year.

oh my shoulder that i injured back in April is pretty much healed. very happy to be benching again with little to no pain.

got offered a salary position and had an interview yesterday. it is a whole career change. about 2 weeks ago i was eating panda express, and the fortune cookie predicted this. crazy how that works.

now i need a car for this job, so im trying to sell off as many pairs of shoes i have. no need for new, a used one will do.

i think im pretty much hired. the guy emailed me and i told him i am not qualified for the position. he then told me to call him. weird. don't know what he sees in me, but only time will tell.

i also just logged back into my skype account in over 2.5 years. my backer left me a message when the whole CORONA shut down happened. long story short, i was given another opportunity, but i missed it because i lost my phacking password for skype and never logged in until tonight. skype recovery email never sent me an email. i tried for so long and never received a email from them. so im thinking when i signed up for skype, i made a typo and typed in the wrong email...

You've demonstrated some tenacity and the capacity to show up consistently, and that's probably all that's needed to be a salaried employee in coffee. The stability of a salaried position will be awesome, but prepare to be abused on hours and asked to come in when it's not necessary at all. Honestly I’ve been pulling rounded for most of my lifting career and have no back issues. Most of my back pain comes from squatting or bench press. Funny how that works. I’ve seen lots of informational vids on a rounded back for DL and it isn’t as bad as people think.

I'm good man. Took a year off from 2+2. Turning 40 soon. I might start another log, skimming through the last one it seems super emo to me now. All kinds of mental gains have been made.

I'm a little confused by you telling the manager you're not qualified for the position. If you want the job that's definitely a suboptimal play. If you don't want the job just say you don't want the job.

Keep in mind that in the food/bev service world there are basically two options. 1) work 40ish hours/week, get paid by the hour and make a little above poverty line money. 2) get a middle class level salary but work 50-70 hours/week, which usually works out to roughly the same hourly rate as you were making before. But you'll also have to manage other employees, who by definition are rarely going to be anywhere near as good as you at the job. You'll also need to be on call 24/7. If someone calls in sick or doesn't show up, it's your responsibility to fill in for them or get someone else to fill in. You'll get blamed for everything that goes wrong, and you'll have to deal with all the whiny unreasonable complaints of the hourly employees.

oh no, this isn't starbucks. its a complete career change. well i wouldn't say a complete change, but it has nothing to do with food or coffee. anyways, i might even decline it if i ever hear back from them.

I might decline because an assistant manager role has opened up and i might want to apply. salary is 50-60k. and trust me when i say this. i can legit be one of the best AM/store managers this coffee chain has ever seen. of all the managers ive known, none of them were competent. nothing was done to better the store or help co-workers. sad really. this is why this company has such a high turn over rate. everybody just sucks at what they do. its pathetic that this company even offers them benefits. like 90% of these workers do not deserve it. its like a participation trophy. everyone gets paid even when they don't put in any work. America has gotten so soft.

From experience majority of managers I’ve dealt with have little to no organizational skills. Everything can run smoothly with that one trait but they lack it.
