Weight this morning: 190.0; weekend has been kind of average for a holiday weekend, but whenever I drink I tend to bloat up a little. Not too concerned, going to shoot for ~2700/day average this week and see how it goes.

First day of the Candito program, went kind of conservative on all the 1RMs so I don't embarass myself:

Squat
10x45, 2x5x95, 5x135, 3x155, 3x175
4x6x195

DL
10x135, 5x185, 3x225
2x6x250

One Legged Leg Press
10x110, 3x10x90

Leg Press Calf Raise
15x110, 3x15x130

Squat was probably more challenging that it should have been, as was deadlift, but no real issues with either. I'd been wanting to try to the one legged leg press, and I liked it when I did -- I think my left leg might be a little weaker and less coordinated, so maybe this will help a bit.

Tomorrow is the first of three straight upper body workouts -- time to bro it up!

Looking at the Candito spreadsheet. Looks v interesting. Still committed to Bastard Texas Method myself. Can't complain about a program that's going to give me 20lbs on my bench in one month. But maybe in 2014 when I'm swole and bored I'll switch to Candito. Can't advance too fast. Need to give my H&F bros time to catch up.

Weight this morning: 190 on the button, no big deal. My folks are probably coming into town at the end of the week, so there'll be some nomzies to be had (Capital Grille, Oceannaire, etc), but I'm going to be keeping it tight nomzie-wise other than that.

First Candito upper body day today:

9/3
Bench
10x45, 10x95
10x140, 10x185, 8x205, 6x215

Weighted Chins
2x10x+10, 8x+10, 6x+15

Seated DB Shoulder Press
2x12x40, 10x45, 8x50

DB Curl
2x12x25, 10x30, 8x35

Incline Cable Flye
4x10x17.5

Lateral Cable Raise
2x10x12.5, 2x12x10

Bench was probably harder than it should have been, but was still pretty smooth; chins went pretty well, and I'm just going to add weight slowly and try to keep progressing every workout. Overall I liked it; took a good bit of time between bench work sets (4ish minutes) and sets of chins (2.5 mins) and still got everything done in an hour, which was nice. I'll be interested to see if I've recovered enough to do this again on Thursday.

Sounds like you might need to start squatting 6 days a week or something bro

I'd invent a time machine just so I could squat 14 days a week

You'd probably be better served with kidnapping kc and taking him back in time 15 years and teaching youngfakebusto how to squat, I fear the damage has already been done for you at this point

I brings da truf son.

Weight this morning: 187.2, and that was with eating 2600 calories yesterday; alcohol really does affect things a ton for me. The wifeacore and I went on about a 1.5 mile walk with the minicores a few days ago and it was pretty enjoyable; I think I'm going to try to work that in a few times a week for a little stealth conditioning. Feeling pretty sore from that lower body workout and not sore at all from the upper body workout, so I guess that's promising for tomorrow.

Funny workout partner story: I roll in to work about an hour ago, and I haven't even gotten my laptop docked when he pulls me over:

Him: Dude, I was at negative calories yesterday; I've lost four pounds in the last few days.
Me: First of all, congrats on the weight loss, but second of all, negative calories, wtf?
Him: Well, I did some running and eliptical when I got home (keep in mind we lifted yesterday) and this is all I ate! (shows sub 300 calorie breakfast and lunch with no dinner). I totally burned more than that.
Me: Uh, we lifted pretty heavy yesterday dude, I'm relatively certain there's not enough protein in that Healthy Choice lunch you pounded down afterwards.
Him: But negative calories days are good, right? I can lose weight faster?
Me: Well, maybe, but you'd be losing a fair bit of LBM. You could do something like 75 g carbs, 60 g fat, and 175 g protein and be around 1550, which would be perfectly fine for weight loss and spare your LBM.
Him: Oh, uh huh, right (while giving me that vacant look which I know means he's not going to listen to a word I'm saying).
Me: (a thousand internal sighs)

At least he doesn't throw tantrums when he misses reps on bench; tomorrow should be fun.

I'm curious. How is your workout partner to work with? Is he a moron when it comes to everything or is it exclusive to the health and fitness realm? Dude sounds all around dimwitted the way you describe him.

He's actually somewhat savant-like with respect to our job; he's like second in command at my company, runs one of the divisions, very well spoken with clients about work stuff -- it's a pretty weird dichotomy. He just has the emotional control of an infant when things don't go his way and absolutely will not take advice from people on non-work related subjects that he doesn't know anything about. Playing poker with him is excruciating so I rarely do it.

Oh wait, Monte DNEL either. No wonder you're friends

BR in full troll mode the past few days!!

Monte, very surprising to hear the guy is actually good at something. I take it he's your superior? Must be that much more difficult to explode on him for being a moron, especially since he's a delicate emotional flower.

Is Monte next in line for this guy's position? Might be a good time to spot him on bench and conveniently let the bar slip...

Sounds like the perfect Beta move here. Just shout a big "all you bro" and let your hands slip. Not your fault if he can't finish the set.

He may well be, but he deserves to be in the position that he's in (it's a small company anyway, titles aren't really too meaningful in any case).

He does definitely get rustled because he can't lift as much as I can, and I would have thought watching me lose 35-40 lbs over 8 months would have been a bit inspiring, but it's a lot of excuses mostly.

Yeah it gets kind of awkward sometimes, I just try not to troll him too hard when he's on a heavy flow day and it works out mostly.

Nah, not really; he does a lot of business development stuff that I'm not really interested in doing, so it's all good for now. Plus if he leaves for another company he'd probably bring me with him, so there's that.

Even though he's a bit emo, he's still my buddy, so whatever.

I call my wife boss. Never spotted on her on bench though, so I never had that unique opportunity.
