Weight this morning: 190.2; as is always the case, whenever I hit a milestone there's always a super nomzie attack that day. We had a bunch of people over and I grilled 10 chicken thighs, 5 sausages, and 4 thinnish porterhouses, and a chick brought over some of those big gourmet cupcake things so I had some of those. Only a 2500 calorie day, but I need to be in the 2000 and below range to maintain I've found.

I was feeling better as the normal workout time approached, so I manned up; I only slept about 3 hours last night because my back hurt so much, but we move on, as dat loco would say:

Press felt heavy-ish; I was trying to keep everything tight, and pretty much succeeded, but I didn't want to grind out a sixth rep and risk a spasm. Everything else felt pretty good, no real issues other than a little soreness back there; I'm going to hit the hamstrings and glutes with a rumble roller and lacrosse ball when I get home from work.

Pretty sure I'm going to be on lockdown tomorrow; there's little to no chance she's going to let me out of her sight. It's probably for the best, I'm still feeling a little tight back there, and I'm not sure how well I'd tolerate squatting, even the jellydick weights that I lift.

Weight today: who the **** knows; I crashed at my buddy's place last night because we had to drive 2 and a half hours north to a client site at 6:30 am, and I would have had to leave my house at 5:45 if I stayed there. This weekend was a festival of pizza and Indiana State Fair food, so I'm not even sure what the damage is -- we'll find out tomorrow I guess.

Not too worried, I should be back down to below 190 by Thursday or so, which means this weekend bender set me back a week, which isn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things. I've decided I'm going to switch up my workout routine to 3 days a week instead of 4; that fourth day is beating me up a bit, and it was nice to have the whole weekend off. I'll probably go back to 4x/wk once I finish the cut, but I think this is going to be best for the last month until I'm done.

Better, no repeat of last week as of yet, which is promising. My hope is that it was just a combination of working out a ton on a relatively significant deficit in combination with the fact that I'm relatively weak in that area, but who knows. I'm just going to keep up my back-centric assistance work for the time being and work on keeping my core tight during my lower body lifts and hopefully that will mitigate any future issues.

Weight this morning: 190.2; nice to see the bounce back happening quickly. Had an interesting conversation with my workout buddy prior to starting today:

Me: So I've decided to trim things down to a 3 days per week schedule at least until I finish my cut, so we're going to be rotating workouts, since this is a four day split.
Him: You work out on Saturday?
Me: . . .
Him: That seems like a lot dude.
Me: Where did you think the squats were in this purported 3 day program of ours?
Him: . . .

Oh, the lels. He also left for five minutes in the middle of the workout while I was doing my weighted chins. I assumed he went to take a **** or something, but I finished all three of my sets before he came back; I was trying to decide if I would finish my chins if someone rushed out and told me he passed out (I decided I would). Later I found out he went upstairs to do weighted chins (sigh).

Bench was really tough; 235 was hard enough that I felt like there was little chance I'd get 3 at 247.5, but I grinded it out barely. Pretty psyched about my progression on weighted chins; it will be pretty sweet if/when I get to the point where I can do 3x6 with a 45 plate attached -- hopefully that is not too far off.

True, true, but an eight month cut where you lose 35 pounds will do that to you. Pretty sure I'm proportionally as strong now on bench as I was before, and relatively close on DL, but my squat is pretty bad. I have a dream of pulling 405 by the end of the year, but that's assuming I finish the cut in a few weeks and start eating at maintenance or a little above; even given that, I'm not so far off from a 2x bw pull I don't think. I'm also pretty sure my press will get back to intermediate level relatively quickly after I start eating, but whatever; the goal of this phase was to look better, and I look pretty good. My legs are DYEL, but they started out DYEL so what are you doing to do.

I have no real idea of how this happened, but whatever. The good news is that my love handles are definitely smaller; the bad news is the front is the last place I'm going to be losing belly fat and I still don't have very much definition. Might have to hit up the father-in-law for a kitchen table abdominoplasty to reach my goal; very disappointing. 36 inch pants I just bought confirmed loose, just bought a black dress belt for the first time in 10 years so hopefully it will stem the tide when it arrives.

I didn't actually think finishing the cut before the end of August would happen, but now it looks like it might -- exciting. Prepare for some underwhelming nudes in a few weeks, I guess.
