Would there be any interest if I set up a H&F team on Concept2? I can count 4 of us now (monte, melk, lozen, myself).

Didn't get out into the garage quite early enough this morning (around 7:30), so it was a bit warm towards the last few intervals. Nice to get back to 15k meters for steady state, though, even if my ending HR might have been a few beats too high.

Not really sure what a C2 team would entail, but assuming not a ton of extra effort, sure, why not?

I've got a C2 as well, although I don't use it that much (maybe once a week or so). I'm mainly doing a strength programme at the moment. I'm also quite slow.

I do fit loco's stereotype for C2 owners, though.

Rich white subtle brag, lol.

Pretty hardcore packing a C2 on a road trip Monte!

floppy, river, melk, monte, lozen, the affiliate has been created. Go to Profile -> Affiliation -> search for H&F

Not sure if this link will work

Obviously went out a bit too fast, maybe because a garage at the beach is hotter than my basement. 1:50 pace across next time, maybe. Did a light 10 minute warmup row beforehand, so today ended up being 10k meters.

Arm is feeling marginally better, so did some frequency push-ups yesterday. We'll see how it goes.

Bit hot in the garage today, so the HR was kind of high, but working up a good sweat is still kind of nice. First 3 3k pieces were sub 2:15, then 2:17+ and 2:18+ for the last two.

Two minutes off the pace from a few months ago (iirc this was one of the last workouts before shingles), but given I worked until 11 last night, slept like ass, and did it in a humid garage instead of a cool basement, not terrible.

Was up until 2:30 working last night, so not ideal; got my regulatory submission in and hopefully accepted, so mission accomplished though.

Some gains here, even though I may have shorted out my HR monitor with sweat. Didn't sync completely with my phone app so I had to enter it manually anyway, so the full suite of data I never look at isn't there for this one. Exactly 4 seconds off my 5k PR, so not bad.

Need to buy a new HRM I suppose; this session was obviously "too intense", but likely not as much as it seems due to my white coat syndrome. Maybe I'll tape over the part of the screen that shows HR once I get a new monitor and see what happens.

Shaved a minute total off three weeks ago, so not bad; bit closer to the sub-1:45 goal. Lengthened my stroke the last three intervals and that helped. Added a 10 minute warmup to my rest meters.

Rest meters include a lazy ten minute warmup.

Went out a bit slowly in terms of stroke rate and my legs (quads) just didn't have the endurance to push as hard as I did on the first few rounds. Even with falling off quite a bit, still almost averaged 5:45 per interval, which was what I guessed would be a reasonable goal. As I recall, almost getting to 5:40 across was the best I ever did, so some improvements are coming.

Legs are feeling a bit heavy, likely from no real off days and harder than normal steady state. I'll back off on the steady state and plan for an off day next Monday when we drive home.

Felt like hot buttered AIDS from the first warmup stroke and almost called it after ten strokes of the 5k proper because my legs felt so heavy, but I told my innerEV I was on my purpose and kept going. Happy to only have lost half a second per split, mostly because I apparently rested in the middle 1k. Probably necessary.

Have a day off Monte! Have you rowed like 15 days straight? You're gaining fitness, but not able to express it because of fatigue.

Yeah I'm aware; we were planning to drive back home tomorrow, so I was going to take a day off then, but we've decided to stay a few days. I'll do some steady state today and then take tomorrow off.

Indeed; apparently not far from our house, either. I'm not really all that concerned, but her parents wanted us to stay another week anyway, so whatever. We went shark fishing today, so pretty decently better than an 11 hour drive.

Do you catch and release or do you eat them? I don't know the first thing about fishing.

I actually ate shark on occasion when I was a kid. It was K, but I definitely don't miss it.
