I'll do my best. When do you guys generally wrap up?

Probably around 7... Titan's never a really consistently programmed day though, for me at least. Feel free to PM me for my cell if you're unsure or something, but I assume you're in communication with DF?

Really enjoyed meeting saw, DFII, and KC at Titan and seeing what the strongman thing is all about up close. I was mildly concerned rolling up, as it's literally just in the garage of this dude's house and this could be some elaborate Boston rape/hazing ritual, but I manned up and went in. There was a truly legit amount of equipment in there, and there was some heavy duty work going on -- the kind of work that made me want to do a set of intensity squats at 255 just to confuse the owner when he figured out it wasn't my second warmup. Very, very cool resource to have and I can see why they dig it.

Seeing saw in person solved the problem of how I can weigh 10+ lbs less than someone I've got 9 inches on, as he's built like a tank and has a back that makes me look even more machinist.gif than I usually do -- it was a shame he couldn't make dinner. We talked a bit about work stuff in between his sets, and I'm sure I bored the **** of him with my stuff, but he was just as smart and personable as I expected from his posting here.

DFII (who, funnily enough, I made the connection is not actually named Doug approximately 30 seconds before heading back to my hotel) is, unsurprisingly, really jacked and, also unsurprisingly, quite intelligent and well spoken on a variety of topics while having a slightly more cutting sense of humor than I was expecting. I think/hope I adequately conveyed my thanks for his assistance over the last few months, but he has gone/continues to go out of his way to nudge me in the right direction (or, at least, a more interesting one) and it's much appreciated. His girlfriend was/is a complete delight, and more than a bit of a trooper for coming out to meet another "internet friend" (although she did bring a wingman, which I can't really blame her for).

I was going to troll and just post "KC is alright" and submit, but in truth I really enjoyed meeting/chatting with him (not that I expected I wouldn't). We've interacted a bit over Skype for various reasons over the last year or so, so I felt like I knew him a little, but just hearing him, DFII, and saw talk optimal Atlas Stone strategy made me feel impressed, dumb, and weak at the same time. We chatted about a fair bit of random sports and life related stuff at dinner, as I guess we were technically each other's date (I stopped off at the hotel room after work to douche, just in case) and he knows his stuff and brought takes that are PIPING HOT re: football sucking and whatnot. We also seemed to share the same semi-malaise with portions of our job, although his is a bit more well earned as a 48 year old AMERICAN MILLIONAIRE.

All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my first real life 2p2 meet-up, and hopefully I didn't bore the youngs too much with talk of wives, kids, and job (but besides that and lifting I don't really have a ton going on, and my lifting sure doesn't impress this group). Hopefully some/all of us, as availability dictates, can get a drink again the next time I'm in Boston.

Thanks bros. A few more points I forgot to mention that may be of interest:

Re: loco

Me: So you've met loco, right? What's his deal? Everyone that's met him talks about him like he's a ****ing shaman or something.

KC: No, man, he's super magnetic and positive and you really FEEL it.

K. He can even melt the most icy of hearts, apparently.

Tinder was discussed, as was BTM's relative skill level. Eyebrows were raised. DFII GF was perhaps slightly alarmed.

A moment of silence, eyebrow raises, and sad head shakes were had as we poured a little out for DT. Feels. They asked me if my wife would be ok with an even taller, balder man moving into our house. Unfortunately, she probably would be. More feels.

Then KC talked about how fantasy writing is terrible, and we laughed heartily at this shared portion of our ontology. Good times.

Still in Logan, though (until 7:30)

Hit me up if you ever want to see Banker's Life. We can lift; you can laugh.

I agree about loco. You have to meet him to understand. He is far more chill in person. But just as good natured and humorous. He would make a terrific gym owner.

Great writeup, Monte!

Glad you guys had such a good time.

I was worried you'd end up like this

Loved the TR for a T I didn't know you were going to so the R was welcome. I guess I haven't been following the LC that much or something. Plus I catch up on other's logs once a week or so so I could have easily missed so mething.

I'm gellin you got to meet some of the best 2+2ers around as I'd love an internet friends meetup but no one ever seems to come to DC/Baltimore and I rarely seem to leave the area. Gotta stay within the tinderbarrier, or something. Also honored (I think) that I came up. Curious as to the eyebrows and alarmed nature, though.

I'm sleeping in Dulles tonight, so I'm kind of close to you. A Terminal if you want to come hang.

Explaining that we know a guy on the Internet who mows through tens of curly skanks every year using tinder and provides a photographic timeline for our vicarious experience is a bit of a delicate conversation to have with someone of the intelligence, wit, and social grace of the esteemed Ms. DFII GF, Esq. I'm sure you understand.

Spoiler:
They weren't all curly.

Your potential consideration is noted and appreciated.

As an aside, this post (the 4000th post in my thread) will be a comment about how I'm stranded somewhere traveling (ORD now; my flight this morning out of Dulles was delayed so I missed abide connection), missing a day of lifting, and getting sick. Seems an appropriate way to ring out 2014 and ring in posts in the 4xxxs; hopefully I pull four plates before the 5xxxs roll around.
