193.4 this morning, but pre-dump. Doing ok with the food I think.

11/7

DL
10x135, 5x185, 2x225, 3x245, 3x265, 2x285, 2x300, 4x315

Front Squat
10x45, 5x95, 2x125, 5x3x145

Leg Extension: 2x20x100
Leg Curl: 2x20x80
Adduction Machine: 2x20x100
Standing Calf Raise: 2x20x110

Made my DL stance slightly wider and was having some balance issues (I think from my grip not being perfectly symmetrical), so there's somehow helicoptering on the first rep of the 315 set. I was going to not post the video, but it's not like my lower body lifts can be any more of a punchline then they already are, so whatever. I think I'll just add five pounds to my 1RM target (so now 355) and re-run this 5/3/1 variant again, and maybe do a deload after the next cycle if I feel like I need it.

Front squats are still easy; trying to go deep and keep my knees shoved out, and it seems to be working. My left hip/quad region seems to be loosening/strengthening up, so hopefully the imbalance is being slowly corrected.

Probably going to do a few Yugosets of planks tonight, maybe some quick band pullaparts too.

It might be better if you kneel when you put your straps on instead of bending over like that for 15 seconds. Maybe its just cause im fat but when i do that i get kinded of winded and all the blood rushes to my head

I might have to give that a shot, actually; thanks.

Monte and I would have a sick mock-meet. Honestly I don't know who would win.
It's a toss-up. I would get smoked at bench but the man has never officially squatted over 275 so I would destroy him there. A compete toss up.

But alas getting too old for these. EV recently called me out and said he would take me on. No response from me. All downhill since I got smoked by fakeb. Soon I will only be able to take on skinnyfat newbs.

loco,

You'd probably win, but you are, in fact, incorrect on your supposition about my squatting:

Pretty ****ty, my form was kind of bad, with my weight on my toes on a number of reps.
Maybe I'd have a chance in another few months, but I doubt it. I'm comfortable with being the second weakest regular on the forum behind Soulman.

At least right now, bench would be much, much closer than you think.

I would pay at least $3.50 for tickets to a Monte vs Loco mock meet.

I didn't realize you had hit 285x5. I slowly retreat, I would get smoked.

loco,

To be fair, that was 2 years ago when I weighed 40 pounds more than I do now, but still, I could probably get 275 or 285 up once, sloppily, within a few weeks, given I got 3x5x255 (or maybe 2x5, 1x4x255) relatively recently.

You would still probably win.

Projections:

Loco
Squat: 320
Bench: 265
Deadlift: 350

Monte
Squat: 280
Bench: 275
Deadlift: 350

These estimates could be off. I would like to know for sure. But we all know a mock meet can never happen. Suicide grip on a 1RM max bench? RIP Monte.

While I find the above estimates reasonable, I have my doubts that loco's lower back and/or QT could stand up to max deadlifting and squatting in the same day. That said, I have my doubts I could hit 275 with a thumbed grip, too, so there are problems everywhere.

Are wrist wraps legal in these mock meets? I'd have to buy another set since I lost mine literally the first time I used them, but still.

loco wears wrist wraps. And we have video proof of him hitting a 315 squat and 350 deadlift in the same day during his first mock meet with me.

EV,

Pretty sure the wifeacore would be sure I was becoming a gay pimp specializing in microtwinks if you both showed up at once, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it I suppose.

Weight this morning 192.8. Slow and steady is nice.

11/8

Tabata rowing: 4 mins @ 20 sec sprint, 10 sec normal = 1050 m
Walking: 45 min @ 4.0 = 3.0 miles

Did four Yugosets of three plank reps and five sets of light band pullaparts in front of the TV last night; pretty simple night routine that may provide some marginal benefit. Probably going to do 4x8 ab wheel tonight. Eventually the monoab will convert to a duoab and I can die a happy man.

Palms up or palms down pulls parts? Palms up is the truth, only just discovered this from something DF said.

Palms up, of course, as per DFII. It feels dirty crediting him though, considering he probably lifted it from EV, but still.

Weight this morning: 194.4; not bad considering this weekend was an apocalypse of food. Need to get better.

11/10

Bench: 10x45, 10x95, 5x135, 3x175, 2x205, 1x225, 3x3x250

Superset A (90 seconds rest):
Incline DB Bench: 10x5x65
DB Row: 10x5x90

Superset B (60 seconds rest):
DB Flye: 5x10x20
Facepulls: 5x10x50

Superset C (60 seconds rest):
DB Hammer Curl: 5x12x20
Cable Tricep Pressdown: 5x12x70

Wrapped my thumbs for benching and the world didn't end, so we'll see how it works going forward. Feel like I'll have to start microloading once I get to 3x3x255, but we'll see.

Upped the weight in the incline/row superset, and upped the incline of the bench (from 2 to 3 on those standard adjustable benches) and it wasn't a big deal. Probably will be using 100 lb DBs for the row shortly, and at least 70 lbs on incline seems doable. Everything else was pretty smooth, no issues with missing rest or anything. Will probably bump the weight up a bit more on a few of these exercises, but slow and steady seems to have helped me acclimate. Cool program.

Oh and I also narrowed my grip slightly (middle finger on the smooth ring as opposed to the webbing between my index and ring finger); seemed slightly stronger, although hard to tell whether it was that or ENGAGING THE POWER OF THE THUMBS.

Upper chest already sore just from increasing the incline of the bench. Tomorrow is likely going to be rough. Good times.

Weight this morning: 194.2. Still fat.

11/11

Squat: 10x45, 5x95, 5x135, 3x175, 5x5x205
DL (Speed): 10x135, 5x185, 3x235, 3x2x275
Leg Extension: 2x20x100
Leg Curl: 2x20x85
Adduction Machine: 2x20x100
Standing Calf Raise: 2x20x110

3.5 minutes between squat and DL worksets, 90 seconds between everything else.

Not going to log it, but I've pretty much made 5x20 light band pullaparts and either 4 triple Yugosets of planks or 4 sets of ab wheel a nightly routine.

On the road for the next few days, should get cardio in tomorrow.

11/12

Planks: 4 Yugosets of 10 sec on, 10 seconds off x 3
Walking: 45 min @ 4.0 = 3.0 miles

Crappy hotel gym so no rower, but did manage to get a cardio session in. Put in enough time at the client site today that I may be able to get home tomorrow early enough to see the minis and maybe not miss the gym, but we'll see.
