Yea count that one, looks like 2 wheels was there too maybe, very nice. Just spotters hands hovering there would probably rustle me enough to miss the lift so well done on that.

10% reset is how wendler says to handle it when you start having trouble making the reps, no? Not fps imo.

DT,

He was pretty psyched!

rAv,

Yeah, I think I could have grinded out 222.5, or maybe even 223.75 if things were optimal; hard to say for sure, though.

Regarding the fps part of my question, it was more related to whether or not switching to paused or spoto would be fps . . . I think I'm probably going to do it unless someone can present a compelling reason not to. Just knock the TM down to 175 and see how my paused incline looks, which will have the bonus effect of being a mini-deload that may help my shoulders recover from the volume I've been doing recently.

You could also just do the paused stuff as secondary on your OHP day (in place of DB incline) and proceed with a small training max jump.

Ah of course. Still not fps imo. Probably good to use slight variations now and then.

What about switching comp vs spoto each week?

Once you acclimate to the fatigue, you might find that your comp training max is not far behind your TNG.

Especially if you integrate the 100% effective Dan Green Sink n Heave technique

6/10: 183.4

A
SSPT DL Week 7 (90%, ~90s rest): wu, 5x275, 2x3x225

B
Squat (light, recovery): wu, 3x5x205
Facepull (seated, light): 8x15
Zottman Curls: 4x12

DL was k; low back was flat but overall tightness was slightly less than last week. Need to make sure this doesn't degrade as the weight increases, since this was the reason I reset in the first place. Everything else fine, though squat felt a bit heavierthan I'd like.

Re: incline, thanks for the suggestions. I think I like Renton's' idea the best, so I'll run that for a few cycles and see how it goes.

6/11: 185.6 lbs

Walking: 30 min @ 4.2/2% incline (2.1 miles)
HIIT (stationary bike): 7 rounds of 15 sec on/1 minute pace + 1.25 minute warm-up and 1 minute cool down (3.29 mi/10 minutes total)
HLR: 4x8
Pallofs: 4x12x27.5
Farmers walks: 3x30secx100 lb DBs

Pretty easy. Little bloated from a lunch of Cuban food yesterday, but my ragrets number zero.

6/12: 185.0

A
OHP (5/3/1): wu, 5x100, 5x115, 1x132.5, 3x142.5, 3x152.5 (9), 8x132.5 (9), 8x125 (9), 9x110 (9)
NG chins: wu, 5x+25, 5x+35, 5x+40, 5x+45, 5x+50, 5x+45, 5x+35
DB Pullover: 4x10x85

B
DB Incline Bench: 2x5x85, 6x85
Facepulls: 8x15

C
Dips: wu, 3x+70, 3x+90, 3x+100, 3x+115
DB Hammer: 4x10x45

Other than forgetting that my last joker triple should have been 155 instead of 152.5, no real issues. AMRAP and backoff sets were all in the "I could comfortably grind out another rep, but why bother" range. Chins were good, though I got the usual mild forearm/elbow tightness a few sets in. Probably need to add a few backoff triples at +90 to finish off heavy dips in the future, but felt good otherwise.

Steak tonight. Hype.

Nice dips! Over 100 is where you're supposed to start seeing big carryover to OHP, so in your case at least try to stop lowballing it!

6/13: 183.6

A
5/3/1 Squat (TM 265): wu, 5x175, 5x200, 1x225, 3x245, 3x265 (8.5), 10x225 (8), 10x210, 10x185

B
SSPT DL (Week 8, assistance): 5x245 (~75 seconds), 2x3x225

C
DB RFESS: 4x8x45
Bayesian Curls: 4x12

Everything felt solid, although my backoff sets got a little sloppy with forward bar movement as I got fatigued. Felt like I had a few more reps at 265 if I wanted them. DL reps were solid, which was nice. Upped the weight on RFESS to 45 lbs and it was challenging, but doable.

Holliday,

I'm trying, brother. If it gets me to a BW press, I guess I'll just have to keep going; a triple with three plates would be kind of cool.

Also, accidentally uploaded 265x3 twice; 225x10 is below:

Walking: 30 min @ 4.2/2% incline (2.1 miles)

Pallofs: 4x12

Quick early morning hotel workout; may do my incline bench workout tonight so I don't have to get up at 5:30 tomorrow to squeeze it in. We shall see how today goes.

Incline bench (5/3/1): wu, 135x5, 155x5, 175x1, 190x3, 205x3 (8.5), 175x9 (9.5), 165x10 (9), 145x 11
DB Row: 6x10x100
One Arm Cable Row: 6x12

B
DB Bench: 3x5x105
Machine Rear Fly: 6x12

C
Seated DB Press: 3x7x60
Incline DB Flyes: 3x12x25

On the road. Forgot to pause the warmups, plus the incline on this bench was a lot flatter (hence a few more reps than expected on the AMRAPs); still glad to have gotten it in, though. Home tonight and flying to the beach tomorrow for nine days.

Did great this trip until my flight home was delayed by three hours, then had booze and salty stuff. Need to stop doing that, but vacation starts today, so w/e. Going to try to lift four days next week and try to keep things reasonable otherwise.

A
SSPT DL Week 8 (90%, ~90s rest): wu, 6x275, 2x3x225

B
Squat (light, recovery): wu, 3x5x210
Facepull (seated, light): 8x15
Zottman Curls: 4x12

Everything easy, except for that I let a dude that was 10 inches shorter than I am work in with me squatting, so the bar hooks had to be set three rungs lower. #beta

Found a decent gym on the island, surprisingly. Pretty happy with the 165 double, plus it's nice that it didn't feel like max effort. Just did some volume chins and medium intensity dips. Probably kind of day, but Sunday was my only real blowout; just trying to keep dessert and snacking in check and but log otherwise.

Spent Father's Day in the pool teaching the boys how to swim and on the beach teaching them how to boogie board, then teared up a bit watching that TD Ameritrade Cat's in the Cradle commercial. Sometimes crotch fruit isn't so bad.

Thanks!

Hilton Head, SC. Nothing exotic, but it's a great beach and my in-laws have a house here, so it's a pretty nice setup. Especially because my four nieces are here to watch the boys.

But yeah, I feel pretty confident that 175 will be there next week.
