I was just thinking what I would have at a Mexican restaurant when I wasn't focused on losing weight.

1 basket chips
2- bowls salsa
3-tortillas with butter and dipped in salsa
1-quesadilla or fajita nachos
3- glasses of soda (non diet)

This would be after having fast food for breakfast and lunch.

They put these squeeze bottles of butter on the table that people put in their hot sauce and tortillas. Is this just a Texas thing or everywhere?

Disappointed you didn't go for one of the stuffed cheese versions, maybe next time!

I've never seen a butter squeeze bottle at a Mexican place in Texas or anywhere else.

fyp

Butter bottle is the most disgusting thing I've ever witnessed from MURICA. And I've seen disgusting things.

Quesadilla:

I was wrong. There is cheese inside, just not much.

How many ounces of cheese do y'all think that is?

A ****load. Like 10oz.
01-12-2017 , 02:50 PM
M,

I'm still shocked you didn't know there was a layer of melted cheese on the tortilla.

Def need to see what their stuffed cheese quesadilla looks like, I bet it's awesome!

Edit: LOL, no way that's 10oz of cheese. A WHOLE CUP of melted cheese is a little over 8oz by weight. I'd guess maybe 4-5oz.

It's like a drug addict building up a tolerance, but with cheese. Eventually a normal dose doesn't feel like anything anymore.

MLYLT,

Did something happen recently that is causing you to (seemingly) self medicate with food?
01-12-2017 , 03:26 PM
Yeah I would say 1-2 oz of cheese on the quesadilla itself. That is a ****load of queso, though!

Looks good, would smash.

Youve gotta be known as the cheese lady at that establishment, looks amazing.

It's like the Texas version of never "saying when" to the parmesan cheese grater

Yeah, I stopped smoking. I've noticed my snacking and food intake has increased significantly.

That colorless menu was prbly a to-go version.

Yeah, the plate looks over a cup to me. If we're to assume the ladle they use on orders is the same size as the sides of cheese they give out, then that looked like a half cup. Either way, no wonder she's popping Metamucil on the reg.

Quesadilla is the new SBC. Long live the Quesadilla.

I take the over 1000 calories for that quesadilla, risking my life.

I would think 1200-1700. I have never heard of taking a quesadilla and then smothering it with a bowl of queso.

This actually reminds me of this Philly cheesesteak place Montecore recommended to me. At the time I was counting every single calorie and came up with a 1700 calorie Philly cheesesteak. It had 5 slices of cheese, 400 cals of bread, and 700 calories of meat and oil.
01-12-2017 , 08:17 PM
1 8inch flour tortilla 150
1 bowl of queso 620 calories (on the border)
5 oz chicken 200
Cheese without bowl 200
Oil and peppers 120

1290
01-12-2017 , 08:29 PM
It had a lot of oil, so I went back and added 4tbs of vegetable oil.(480cals)

Either way I'm right at about maintenance calories, so no harm done. (No weight lost though)
01-12-2017 , 08:31 PM
No sour cream or guac or chips or sopapilla?

Not that it matters but 4 tablespoons of oil is really gross and not possible. It's the cheese you are underestimating.

I am a fan of the cheese (obviously not that much). But I never understood smothering tortillas. They add no taste to the meal, the tortilla's main purpose is to hold the thing together and smothering defeats that.

I think you can find a better homemade meal with lots of cheese. This is not quality Mexican food. You could have poured that much cheese over feces and it would have tasted great.

There is a really good Mexican restaurant in Dallas called Meso Maya. Will see your progress this next few months and maybe check it out with code.

Worth every kcal too

No. you can put five slices of cheese on dog feces, and as long you hold your breath it will be the tasty.
