So are you back to full time logging again, or only the good days?
09-06-2017 , 09:11 AM
Is your walking distance a total of all steps taken throughout the day, or from a dedicated walking session in addition to daily movement? I ask as even on my laziest of days when I don't get out of the house, I get close to 2 miles worth of total step distance.

It's total throughout the day. In East Texas everything is so spread out that you have to drive everywhere, so the only walking I get is at work, at lunch,at the gym, or walking around the block with my daughter. When Im in Dallas, Code3 and I walk to the grocery store that is about 0.75miles from the apartment and to a restaurant about 0.25miles away.

I haven't walked during lunch in several months because I was feeling exhausted all of the time and sleeping in my car. I'm feeling better now and the temperature will start going down soon.....way to hot in the summer here to be outside at noon.

Walking 1200 metres to the grocery store is pretty impressive, zero chance I would ever do that

Dogs basically raise themselves plus what a great excuse to get out and walk. I bet you can get a nice pitbull mix from the shelter for ~ $50 with all their shots included!

I disagree with the assertion that dogs just raise themselves and also disagree with the idea that a pit mix is a good dog for a hands-off dog owner.

Dream Crusher,

Thurs 9/7 log:
09-07-2017 , 11:47 PM
I felt like I had a lot of self control with dinner tonight.
I worked about 13hrs today and didn't get home till 7:30. I was able to go home for 10mins and eat a bowl of cereal because I was starving; I did not go get fast food! I went out for fajitas after work though. BUT, I only had one fajita and counted the chips; I'll eat the rest for lunch tomorrow. I logged calories at the table to make sure what I could have while staying as close to 1800 as possible.

Oh, I also ate a quick 10min lunch and walked for 20mins today!

MLY,

You know that eating fast food can be better than cereal? These sort of "victories" are silly. You consumed 714 calories with something like 24g of protein and little fat. Basically sugar + complex carbs. A Big Mac is a better choice.

M,

I don't understand your day yesterday.

You had breakfast, presumably at home.

You had some sort of packaged/frozen lunch, presumably at work.

After work you went out for Mexican.

When did you go home and eat cereal?

7:30 Breakfast at work
12:00 Lunch at work
5:00 home for cereal
8:00 Mexican Food

I don't see a problem with a snack there. Obviously a sugar/carb bomb isn't ideal, but whatever. Cereal tho, man, I will eat three bowls in a row without batting an eye.

The only real negative was the sugar, but other than that the cereal was a healthier option than fast food (big Mac). Calories are similar and I was within the carb range for the day.

Why you trying to rain on my parade?

At 5:00 I had only consumed 718calories for the day(9.5hrs) and I was so hungry and only had a few mins to grab something. Not the most ideal thing to eat, but also not a complete disaster vending machine crap-fast food meal.

So a Big Mac has less calories is more satiating and tastes great, seems clear to me Big Mac > cereal. You could even toss one of the buns to make it an even better option.

FWIW I'd like to say that your effort as well as reactions have seemed to be improving a lot, keep up the good work!
