I just thought it was hilarious that on one side of them spectrum, one guy thought halo top was too "dirty" because it's still ice cream (lol). And on the other side, a couple of guys implied it was too "clean" and they prefer real ice cream or something in between.

Wat. Just confuse my warrior. 260 cal pint of halo top is a fine food choice for OP. It has a close to a zero rating from a death row diet perspective, while real ice cream has an off the charts 110/100 death row rating. So high, that if you blend it with dog feces it will still taste fantastic.

I actually like Halo Top and quite a few of the low calorie ice cream stuff because I like the airy and fluffy texture. In fact, I was making pretty similar stuff (I was playing with stevia/splenda and thought I was making variations of sorbet) with an ice cream maker even before I knew Halo Top existed.

Loco - the problem is a bunch of people think halo top doesn't even taste very good. E.g. my wife took one bite and gave up, not even worth another bite even considering it's macros.

Yes, let's discuss more how yummy real ice cream is and all about the different yummy flavors in a fat persons log. Very useful and not tempting at all.

I have only done the chocolate thus far.

You'd think this was obvious and the whole point of the discussion...but...

No one has said anything about real ice cream, nor discussed any flavors of real ice cream. It's all been about ****ty low kcal ice cream, which you yourself are eating, hence the discussion.

Well all I've been thinking about is real ice cream and all the flavors. Moolinium Crunch, Banana Split, Strawberry Cheesecake, Rocky road...ugggh

This ice cream discussion is pure aids.

Let's move on.

This is not a laughing matter. When people tell you they want you to succeed, they are telling you you are not succeeding yet. That's acceptable for a new employee or someone in a new position but not acceptable for someone like you. Saying you did great on some x project or that you haven't behaved badly recently is just a way to soften the blow and point you in the right direction.

It's not a license for you to "lol" and treat this lightly. It's a warning that you're on thin ice.

Amazingly standard that you skip this post MLY. Probably best feedback of your current work issue, but nope lets talk about halo ****ing top.

Lol, what a cop out. I don't eat ice cream so I wouldn't know for sure, but I'm guessing they don't keep your Halo in the Weight Watchers frozen section and that you have to wade through all the yummy ice cream to find your stuff.

I'm also guessing that you have to pass by a half-dozen McDonald's type places to get to work with your chicken and rice riding shotgun. You've been at this long enough... time to put on your big boy pants and realize that only you are responsible for what and how much goes into your mouth.

Had Breyers delight raspberry fudge tonight. 34/37. So much better than halo

I thought you got when I was joking.
The ice cream talk was just boring me, so I was trying to find a ficticious reason for people to drop it and thought people would also see I was joking. Eeeh, not sure if I'm explaining that right.

I didn't respond to this because I was in the meeting with the Plant Manager and what Grizy is describing just was not the vibe. The plant manager was wanting me to feel like I was being heard and that he was there to help and gave me the feedback to show he cares.

The thin ice part was actually the complete opposite. He was trying to convince me that there was nothing to worry about. He also talked about some new changes and projects he thinks I could contribute a lot to and was encouraging me to start thinking about them.

Fair enough. You should consider using some kind of emoji coz stuff like you squatting into someone's rack when it's complete BS may throw people off on the little things.

No offense, but you're kind of a walking confirmation bias, so you may want to consider all perspectives...

M, I had a lot more typed up but I think it's easier to spell it out in simple words.

You're projecting that other people would act like children (pissed off/unfriendly) when they have a problem with you because that's what you do. Nothing you said detracts from what I said.

Plenty of managers act as friendly as possible to soften the blow of the substance of their words. It is in fact a tactic taught in business schools on how to deliver bad news.

Think about what he is saying. He's telling you your attitude is a problem and you should think about doing more work.

I was the type of manager to follow with the incredibly patronizing question of "Do you get my drift? Do you really understand what I am telling you?" But I was considered an ass and I was dealing with traders with the mental maturity of teenagers. Most managers simply don't work that way and expect people (in your situation) to be an adult and read between the lines.

Let's compare chocolate. Edy's has 100 kcal per 1/2 cup. Halo has 70 kcal per half cup. So yea, for a 30 kcal per serving difference, I'm choosing the better tasting one every time. I look forward to rant demonizing sugar though, loco.

Melk - for Enlightened go peanut butter chocolate chip, and for Turkey Hill go moose tracks. I don't do mint chocolate chip ice cream either.

Thanks for the recs.

Only one of these sides deserves your scorn (i.e., the first one).

The other side was mostly people saying they don't like how Halo top tastes even after accounting for the lower kcals. As that is a matter taste, it's not really debatable. It's not like anyone was suggesting that MLYLT substitute a pint of real ice cream for the Halo Top shiet.

As far as I'm concerned, if MLYLT eats a pint of Halo top for breakfast every day and still hits her protein and total calorie targets, it's not really a problem with respect to her goals at this point. Of course the same would be true if she ate a pint of Ben and Jerry's every morning, but it would be a lot harder for her to hit her calorie/protein goals and remain compliant that way.

Also agree with Yugo, that this ice cream derail has been the most useful thing in this thread for a while.

Okay LOL, this is a fair statement.

Grizy, I'm open to considering what you say may be what was happening and I misinterpreted what he was saying or the message he was trying to portray.

What would you suggest I do based on the feedback given?

I honestly don't know how you still have people offering advice to you with garbage responses like this.
02-07-2018 , 11:33 PM
27, have you not been paying attention?
I have a problem with being stubborn and defensive.

The main objective is do well at work, learn and improve to be able to run my own business successfully one day. So, I need to be more open to criticism even if that criticism isn't inline with what I believe to be correct. I'm going to really work on this and try to take all the criticism and view things from different angles to find the best approach to improving.

Wed log:
I weighed in at 220 today. Ovulation is tomorrow and I went up 5lbs at the same time last month, but it still bothers me. I had a light day today and trying to reset. I have been at maintenance calories or above since the 1st.

I absolutely have to track my calories and play with my spreadsheet everyday to stay focused.
02-08-2018 , 12:03 AM
Tues log:
I went out to eat twice yesterday! Mexican food and then pizza. I know I'm in ovulation time and could eat ten sausage and biscuits with jelly for breakfast, but dangit I need some more self control.

MLYLT,

You shouldn't be playing with your spreadsheet. You should be tracking calories accurately, which I (and others) have been saying for two years now.

13 months ago, you weighed in at 231, today you weighed in at 220. Even allowing that true weights were 241 and 215, that's not exactly stellar progress. I think you should be focusing more on eating less calorie dense food, and less on using your inaccurate spreadsheet to draw inaccurate conclusions about how big of an impact your "steps" have on your daily calorie goals, and other irrelevant stuff like that.
