Someone brought their kids that were running around.

Thanks for the tip. I've never seen anyone using chalk and am not aware of the rules regarding it. I'm not even sure where to get some.

Those guys are idiots probably. Mixed grip is fine with novice/intermediate weights.

Maybe once you're pulling 500 pounds you can worry about shoulder imbalances and bicep tears. The bottom line is that almost nobody can pull a heavy (to them) set of deadlifts with double overhand grip, so you eventually will either need to switch to using straps, the hook grip (good luck!), or the mixed grip.
11-17-2017 , 01:22 AM
MLY nice job, keep it up. Deadlifts and squats, baby.
11-17-2017 , 01:57 AM
Good job! I think the setup for the deadlift is subotimal though. I am in no way an expert, but I think you need to lower your hips more and get your torso tight. That way your shoulders will also come back and that weird forward jolting motion of the bar should stop. Maybe someone more knowledgable than me can weigh in.
11-17-2017 , 02:28 AM
You should drop some weight and get your form down better. You need to get back to some basics before you take a vacation to snap city. I know that's not sexy, but your lift is closer to a stiff leg than conventional, and as you keep trying to max out low-rep weights with a rounded lower back and inconsistent bar path, you're asking for trouble. Go and post the vid in the form check thread if you want 3rd party, so to speak, feedback.
11-17-2017 , 03:23 AM
My back felt that.
11-17-2017 , 08:09 AM
Focus on form once it's fined tuned then you progress up in weight all you want. For now though proceed with caution because your form needs a bunch of adjustments.
11-18-2017 , 11:08 AM
Thanks for the feedback guys. I'll drop down to 135 and work on form. I can see that my back rounded quite a bit on the last rep, but I'm not feeling any soreness or tightness in my lower back. My hamstrings, however, are incredibly tight and sore today.
I've watched a few videos and I'm just more confused on proper form.
Some say to keep you knees loose, but don't bend them while others say to bend your knees and sit back. Not bending my knees I feel it in my hamstrings, bending knees I feel it in my quads. I have yet to feel anything in my glutes while deadlifting and this is where I want to make gainz.

Post that deadlift video in Cha's thread, he will help you out.
The first 4 seemed okay and a couple of them looked solid.

Measurements for November:

My boobs are almost to where I thought they would be at my goal weight, so I'm a little worried they are going to end up being small C cups which would look really small with my shoulder width.
I lost the most on my stomach, but I don't look any more shapely yet.
11-18-2017 , 04:08 PM
Shape with clothes....I'm looking kinda box shaped. I've got to start doing ab exercises and maybe wear a waist shaper.Oh, and code 3 had a problem with this shirt and said my boobs were hanging out *eyeroll

MLYLT,

Reading your latest posts made me think you’re going through some emotional distress again. Hope I’m wrong, and if not, stay strong.
11-18-2017 , 08:08 PM
Ab exercises are not going to do anything for you
11-18-2017 , 09:26 PM
The problem with the shirt is it makes you look pregnant.

Don't worry about your boobs, it just doesn't matter and you'll need work done when you fix your skin anyway.

Thanks.
Yeah. I was slipping this week, but pulled myself out. It's getting easier/better. I'm trying to focus on the good things.

All the work happenings aren't that bad. I love working with/being around all of the people from our other locations and got to have a wonderful dinner with the south America managers. They brought me coffee and chocolate from Costa Rica as well MLYLT learns to love herself and changes her life (for real this time!). I'll get to see them all again in a Utah in a week, so there's really nothing to be upset about. My boss was also cool with me slipping out of the training a couple of days to go to dr. Appointments and didn't give me any grief about scheduling them during that week.

Hahah...thanks!!! I won't wear that shirt again. Maybe that's what code3 thought and he was trying to find another way to deter me from wearing it.

M,

You still don’t seem to have fully embraced the simple fact that all you need to worry about wrt getting your body to where you want it to be is to keep losing weight and keep doing the lean body mass building work loco and others are helping you with. That’s gonna be the case for quite a while longer. Don’t make it any more complicated than it needs to be.

This *~

I have not read your log in a while. All the drama aside, you're making great progress.

RE: DL
Not bad. Strong. You do need some help. DL is a fairly easy lift once you get it right.

If you don't have plans to compete in a PL meet, pull double overhand. Get straps but only use them on your heaviest sets when your grip starts to limit what you can do.

You posted in Cha's thread, he will probably help you out.

The one thing you can fix immediately. For now, treat each rep as a single. Get fully and properly set up. Take in a huge breath, get really tight, and pull the slack out of the bar. Then pull fast. Don't jerk. Dial not a switch.

You're going to be fine. Take about 20 minutes one on one to get you pulling well.

In the meantime, this could help.

I also have not checked in on your progress for a few weeks—it is looking good, congrats!

The advice to not overthink everything and instead keep it simple and straight forward for a while is spot on. You seem to be gaining some insight on key concepts that you had not exhibited in the past—but then you slip back to your standard delusional thought process. Putting in some strong and consistent work in this area to delete/replace delusional and incorrect knowledge/thought processes with true/beneficial ones will definitely help lead the way to better, sustainable long term results.

Things are going to get even more challenging in the future. If you spend some time strengthening your brain now, the body will willingly follow later, i.e. you need to further develop your WIM.

Great progress overall, keep it up!

EDIT: +1 to getting rid of that pregnancy shirt thing.

Also, box-shaped is a helluva lot better than your former sphere-shape; it is a standard progression you needed to get to before moving on to where you want to wind up.

Not sure if mentioned yet, but carbonated water is a tasty alternative to diet soda and helps your meals feel more full than regular aqua.

Get used to guzzling this stuff in the AM with eggs.

Thanks for the reminder guys.
Just Cals in vs Cals out and making small changes as I go along.

Back in the truck load of empty water bottles to the diet soda factory = totally not diet soda anymore, healthy to drink.

SODASTREAM!!!
11-20-2017 , 12:29 PM
I initially laughed at the thought of Sodastream because I bought one a few years ago and it ended up being a waste and I would it in a yard sell for a couple of bucks. But, upon further thought, I might could mix in some berries or fruit and it could be a good alternative to Soda for me now. Back then I was drinking 2-3 2L of Dr. Pepper a day, now natural fruit flavored fizzy water sounds great.
