Meh, doesn't matter. If she ate this log every single day, she'd crush you on weight loss.

If she ate that log every day, she'd eventually binge. It's not enough food. She needs to eat 1200-1600 a day. She needs to eat more protein and fats. There's no way that MLYLT isn't starving all the time, the way she's been eating lately.

Of course, hence the if part of the equation, but she's starving all the time because she's used to eating 4000 calories a day. She could eat a 16oz jar of natural peanut butter every day and still be hungry.

1400 calories of protein and fats is still going to leave her hungry because it's far, far fewer calories than her body is accustomed to consuming. She needs to stave off the hunger pangs for a week or so (i.e., discipline), and then she'll be able to subsist on 1300 calories without feeling deprived. Even if she ate 900 calories daily for 5 days, she'd then be able to eat 1400 and feel satisfied on day 6.

But she can't eat that log every day DUCY?

And that was rhetorical, I don't really care if you see why.

How much longer is the bet, 4 months? She could sustain that for 4 months if she really wanted to (it's neither healthy or safe, ldo), and she'd still win even if she had a 3000 calorie blowout once a week.

Anyway, the main point I was making I already addressed, which is in terms of weight loss, garbage or health food doesn't matter so you mocking her food choices was pointless. She could eat cheeseburgers everyday and still beat you if she's disciplined in her intake, DUCY?

I do, but that is not really a realistic option now is it?

I don't know what the numbers are between you two, but 4 months is a long time. She can learn, just like those who came before her and those who will follow. Old habits are hard to break, but not impossible. She could shed 50-60 pounds by Jan if she makes it her priority.

Easily. Well, easy to do with discipline.

I'm working on the drama in my life. Just a couple of months ago I was suicidal and hospitalized. In February I went to a hotel with the intent on slitting my wrist and sat in a bathtub contemplating it for a couple of days. I have since gotten on medicine and the suicidal thoughts are gone. I'm still dealing with the depression, but I think that is getting better with time and will be much better once I'm away from my ex boyfriend, around family, and working again.

Thank you and everyone else for y'all's support. Im determined to be healthier both mentally and physically. I want to turn my life around so bad.
Go get em, sistah. Onward and upward. Getting shed of codeguy and moved into a new house will be a new chapter and new story for you, write it right.

re diet stuff, I'd follow Hey Porter's advice and get ketoing with the steaks and whatnot.

weird i dont recall writing down "cheeseburgers" on the plan i gave you

I've been on the road all weekend. Eventually I'm going to get settled at home and working with a schedule and meal plan lined out.

If she enjoys cheeseburgers and they fit her macros then what's the harm? I'm eating substantially less than MLY and I still manage a few cheeseburgers a month.
08-27-2016 , 04:00 PM
I like getting two double cheeseburgers at McDonalds and combining them to form one burger (discard a set of buns). Add a zero calorie drink, and that's like 700 calories.

At Wendy's it's even better because they use leaner meat and less cheese.
08-27-2016 , 04:01 PM
I go like 5 times a week. Still ripped.

Obviously there's nothing wrong with it at all, and that's why bdiddy is one of the last people she should be taking advice from, like I said in the OOT thread.
08-28-2016 , 01:17 AM
There isn't anything wrong with it except the fact she's been trying that approach and failing
08-28-2016 , 01:18 AM
Lol @bdiddy being the last person to talk to about fat loss only the leanest person on the 2+2 forums , derp some more please

bdiddy,

It's a "know your audience" kinda problem. Of course you're very knowledgeable and buff and lean etc and I tend to like your posts, but you have zero understanding that other people don't work like you, that's all. Your advice to people is always some variation of "bro it's not that hard just eat perfectly while working out perfectly". This is, of course, strictly true, but it's also wildly unhelpful as no one on this forum except you will do that. I'm exaggerating for effect here, but not by that much.

Telling MLYLT to eat 1200 calories of chicken breast, egg whites and spinach a day for 6 months* with no cheating is wasting her time, and yours. Of course she's not going to do that, almost everyone else gets that. What would be much more helpful for MLYLT is learning how to make sustainable changes that she enjoys and that she can keep to indefinitely. Shaming her for having a QP cheese on a 1400 calorie day because it doesn't adhere to the professional bodybuilder's "gotta win my prop bet" diet plan is actively hurting her ability to develop those changes, and that's why your advice to her is really bad.

* Again this is probably an exaggeration, but you and everyone else get my point.

LOL

I think we're getting into diminishing (or even negative) returns of what MLY could gain from having more advice. Now it's only a matter of putting it all into practice, which is entirely up to her. It's also the hardest part. I don't doubt that most obese people became that way partly due to ignorance of diet principles, but the main reason was that they lacked discipline and self-control. These are still the biggest obstacles for MLY, and browbeating her over her food choices isn't going to make it any easier for her to overcome them.
